Toxins to avoid while pregnant

Clearly, eating a healthy diet during pregnancy is important. Ideally, you should avoid all food toxins and other pollutants in the year leading up to conception.

Hydration must also be of quality. Thus, it is necessary to avoid consuming tap water without filtering it. Indeed, even if the public authorities claim that the water in our taps is "drinkable", they are the ones who set the maximum levels of polluting substances and who make sure that these toxic thresholds are not exceeded.

Harmful substances in tap water

Tap water contains :

  • chlorine, an atom of the halogen family like iodine, bromine and fluorine. They belong to the class of endocrine disruptors.
  • nitrates, recognized as very dangerous especially for babies and children.
  • sometimes lead and aluminum deposits, residues from the pipes. The current pipes are made of plastic, the residues of which are just as toxic.
  • heavy metals: chromium, nickel, copper, zinc, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, whose long-term health consequences are well known. Be aware that mercury blocks the body's ability to remove all other toxins.
  • pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, acaricides, bactericides, etc. Many of them are also considered endocrine disruptors. Recall that the suffix "-cide" comes from the Latin verb "cædere" which means to kill, destroy...

In the spring of 2013, a study conducted by the newspaper "60 millions de consommateurs" revealed that among 47 brands of bottled water, 10 of them showed traces of drug contamination (hormones, vasodilators) and other pollutants (alkylphenols, traces of pesticides and weedkillers). A new 2015 study shows a marked improvement in this state of affairs. However, they can also be contaminated by plastics (bisphenol A and phthalates - endocrine disruptors).

Prepared and industrial meals: say no!

During pregnancy, it is recommended to avoid industrial food and ready-made meals because of the many food additives they contain. Fruits and vegetables from field crops and the industrial circuit are abundantly sprayed with organophosphorus, organochlorine and other pesticides or insecticides. They are merciless for the body and for the development of the child since they constitute endocrine disruptors and molecules recognized as neurotoxic, and that even by the WHO... In order to avoid this panoply of killer products, unless you grow your own vegetable garden, there is no other alternative than to turn to plants resulting from organic or biodynamic agriculture.

By adopting an organic food, you will avoid the most toxic additives. The numerous recent scientific data confirm more and more that it is often the poisons or chemical molecules in trace form that are the most destructive and deleterious to health. Thus, there is no need to detail all these additives to understand the danger of their content, but also of the residues they contain in the form of traces, residues such as heavy metals for example. These are fully permitted residues from their manufacturing process.

It is now known that the placental barrier is not as tight as previously thought. Indeed, it seems that this filter is programmed for substances recognized by our organism, which is not the case for all the products we have just mentioned since they are a panoply of synthetic chemical molecules totally ignored by nature.

Beware, because one might naively believe that the skin is also a filter for the baby in the mother's womb, but this is not the case either... since we know that anything that touches the skin is in the heart of the bloodstream within 20 minutes of contact.

Conclusion, everything you wear directly on your skin (synthetic clothes, colored with chemical pigments, washed with chemicals...) and everything you apply to it quickly and without intermediary reaches the vital organs such as the liver, kidneys or intestines, and consequently also the vital organs of the baby you are carrying Avoid cosmetics whose labels mention molecules with unpronounceable names or those that contain all the derivatives of "Lauryl - laurel laureth, etc. "All "ETH", "PEG" (phthalates, colorants, emulsifiers, parabens, preservatives...), aluminum derivatives, kerosene, tallow, lanolin, fluorine, formaldehyde or limonene.

In short, everything a pregnant woman eats affects her baby. Anything she puts on her skin should be safe to eat. So everything she eats or touches on her skin should be totally natural and TOTALLY DEPRESSED OF ANY SYNTHETIC MOLECULE (imply chemical molecule)!
