Aloe vera juice: benefits and recipe

We often hear about aloe vera and its benefits. But what is the reality? I invite you to take a look at one of its most beneficial forms for your body: aloe vera juice.

Why consume aloe vera?

First of all, it's important to know that not all aloe vera is created equal. There are more than 300 species of which only some have proven health effects. The most interesting of these is the Aloe Barbadensis Miller.

This kind of aloe vera is rich in vitamins (A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B9, B12, C, E and PP), in mineral salts as well as in trace elements (Phosphorus, potassium, calcium, chlorine, iron, zinc, copper, chromium, magnesium, manganese and selenium), which gives it many virtues.

Its other active constituents are the presence of enzymes, sugars, amino acids (7 of the 8 essential amino acids and 11 of the 14 amino acids known as "secondary" that our body synthesizes), salicylic acids, lignin and saponins (antiseptic).

Aloe vera juice is a drink made from mucilage (gel contained in the leaves of the aloe vera plant). Less concentrated than gel, it is absorbed much more easily.

In addition to hydration, its two main virtues are an anti-inflammatory action and a depurative action.

The benefits of aloe vera

Its action is especially noted at the level of the system digestive. Aloe vera helps fight heartburn, stomach acid, ulcers (stomach, esophagus, intestine).

A 2016 study demonstrated its benefits on diabetic patients, decreasing blood glucose (blood sugar levels) and glycated hemoglobin levels. Its juice compensates for the failure of the pancreas, the natural producer of insulin.

Because of this action on blood sugar, aloe juice is also a good ally for weight loss.

It is also good for the heart thanks to its blood pressure regulating action.

How to consume aloe vera?

While it is possible to buy it ready-made, the best way to consume aloe juice is to make it yourself and consume it immediately.

  • If you wish to buy it, make sure you choose an organic product and check its aloe vera composition. The more concentrated the juice is in aloe, the more important its action will be!
  • Its taste being rather bitter, it can be cut with water or diluted in an organic fruit juice.
  • Be careful not to consume too much of it, as it has a laxative effect.

Take an aloe juice cure!

We recommend a cure at the change of seasons, the ideal time being autumn as it boosts immunity, preparing our body to get through the winter months in full health.

It is also recommended to make a cure of aloe juice during constipation or bloating problem. Thanks to its laxative action, it helps digestion, encourages intestinal bacteria, regulates stool and cleanses the digestive system.

It is advisable to take one tablespoon of aloe every morning on an empty stomach for a month, pure or diluted. In order to achieve maximum results, be sure to eat a balanced diet and eliminate (or greatly reduce) alcohol, meat, deli meats and refined sugar, as well as practice regular physical activity.

Aloe vera juice

Home recipe for aloe vera juice

Ingredients:

  • 10cm of aloe vera (its leaves can be found in organic stores)
  • Juice of 1/2 organic lemon
  • 300ml of spring water

Preparation:

  • Take the gel from the aloe leaf. The green skin being toxic, it is important to remove it well, with a knife, then to take the gel with a spoon and to rinse it under water.
  • Place the gel in a blender.
  • Add the juice of 1/2 lemon and the 300ml of spring water
  • Mixer

Optional: You can add a tablespoon of honey or agave syrup (Organic) to mitigate the bitter taste of the plant.

You can also add a little ginger or turmeric. Have a good tasting!
