Apply creams to have a more beautiful skin.
In winter as in summer, the body, and more precisely the skin, is put to the test. Sunburn, cold, heat, pollution ... come in turn to attack the skin and if we are not careful, it ends up being damaged on the surface but also deep down.
This is why taking care of your body with several products is essential. Shower gels, face or body creams, moisturizers, sun creams, scrubs, soothing lotions and oils are there to help us protect what we hold most precious: ourselves.
Sunscreen, an indispensable protection
For the face and body, sunscreen is a must-have during the summer months.
5 areas to remember to protect
When we spread sunscreen on our bread, we must be careful to protect every part of our body. Of course, the arms, legs, shoulders, back and stomach are the first places we think of. The face is not forgotten either, but there are other areas that we tend to forget or neglect.
The neck is a very sensitive area of the body, yet it is often forgotten whether it is for daily care or for applying sunscreen.
Hands can also get a sunburn and even though we often think that they are naturally protected, this is not the case.
Lips are extremely sensitive and should not be neglected when applying sunscreen.
The décolleté is an area that is only remembered to protect when wearing a swimsuit. However, this area is constantly subjected to the dangers of UV rays and a daily application of SPF protection is therefore necessary.
The scalp appears to be protected by our hair, but this is not the case. Therefore, to avoid sunstroke and sunburn, it is best to wear a hat.
The after-sun cream to complete the treatment
In the evening after a long exposure to the sun, the reflex to adopt is to apply an after-sun care product. The primary goal of this lotion is to counter the visible or invisible damage done by the sun to the skin. Moreover, this daily ritual is an excellent way to maintain your tan.
In addition to rehydrating, fixing the tan and repairing the skin after sun exposure, an after-sun lotion has other interesting properties :
It limits premature skin aging.
It soothes inflammation and relieves sunburn.
It offers a refreshing effect.
It adapts easily to skin types.
It is suitable for sensitive and fragile areas.
It is possible to apply make-up over it.
Moisturizing cream: why is it necessary?
The skin of the body and face is subjected daily to several factors that damage it: rubbing clothes, perspiration, weather... Daily moisturizing of the skin is a care that allows the skin to protect itself from all these attacks and prevent the skin from drying out and becoming irritated.
The moisturizing cream aims to nourish and hydrate the skin in depth by infiltrating through the pores. In addition, the lipids present in the cream repair the external layer of the skin (skin barrier).
Thus, thanks to a regular application of cream, the skin regains all its suppleness, luminosity and radiance.
Make your own moisturizing cream for the skin
Ingredient for 50 ml of cream
30 ml of vegetable oil of your choice (olive, sesame, castor, sweet almond, jojoba or other)
20 ml of clear water or hydrolate (rose, lavender ...)
5 ml of good quality beeswax
15 drops of grapefruit seed extract
Alcohol to disinfect
A graduated bowl
A jar or bottle (preferably glass)
Preparation of the cream in 10 minutes
Before starting, be sure to thoroughly disinfect ALL equipment with alcohol or by soaking it for 10 minutes in boiling water. Then wash your hands thoroughly.
Heat a pan in a bain-marie and add the wax and oil.
Stir at about 60°C until the wax is completely melted.
Place the second pan in the water bath and heat the water or hydrolate in it.
Remove from the heat when both preparations are hot, then pour the water gradually into the oily mixture while whisking continuously.
Continue to whisk the mixture until the ingredients have combined and the mixture is lukewarm.
Then add the grapefruit seed extract while stirring and pour it into the bottle.
Don't forget to label your cream and indicate the date of manufacture on it.
Your homemade cream is now ready! Before the first use, make sure to carry out an allergy test (a little in the hollow of the arm and then wait 24 hours).
It is recommended to store the cream in a place away from light, heat and humidity (the fridge is ideal). Under these conditions, the cream will keep for about 1 month unless signs of degradation are visible: change in smell, color or texture.
