Purasana cocoa powder

Cocoa powder, that sweetness that reminds us of childhood breakfasts... Purasana has developed a high quality 100% raw cocoa powder. It contains no other ingredients. It contains no sugar, no coloring, no added fat. Discover why you should use Purasana cocoa powder in your gourmet preparations

Purasana cocoa, a source of fiber

Cocoa powder is rich in fiber. These represent approximately 40% of the powder. Fiber helps regulate transit, thus limiting the risk of constipation and/or diarrhea. Moreover, fiber is the main source of nutrition for the intestinal microbiota. Thus, cocoa helps to maintain a healthy, rich and diversified intestinal flora.

Finally, fiber also plays a role in regulating blood sugar levels. The ingested sugars are trapped in the cellulose of the fibers which avoids a glycemic peak just after ingestion. As a result, the sugar will be released gradually throughout the digestion process and the rest will be evacuated in the stools.

100% pure cocoa to maintain a responsive immune system

The polyphenols in cocoa help strengthen the intestinal mucosa. Part of your immune system sits in the lumen of your intestines from your microbiota.

If the mucous membrane is damaged, inflamed or irritated, the entire balance of the microbial flora suffers: the "good" bacteria disappear in favor of the "bad" ones. Consequently, cocoa polyphenols ensure the good condition of your mucous membranes, repairing them as needed.

Fiber as a prebiotic (feeding the microbiota) and polyphenols to take care of the intestinal mucous membrane is the winning combo to have a reactive immune system.

Cocoa, a significant source of antioxidants

There are about 10% flavonoids in Purasana cocoa. Flavonoids are natural antioxidants of plant origin. Antioxidants act on the prevention of the effects of cellular aging by fighting against the harmful effects of free radicals. The latter can be caused by human activity: pollution, tobacco, stress, poor hygiene, pesticides, poor quality food... or natural, such as the sun, for example.

Cellular oxidation is responsible for the premature appearance of signs of aging: wrinkles, spots, white hair, dryness ... but also diseases such as cancer or Alzheimer .

Flavonoids improve coagulation, elasticity of blood vessels and reduce the level of bad cholesterol (LDL). They protect you from cardiovascular diseases.

Cocoa has an antioxidant capacity 2 to 3 times higher than green tea and wine.

Cocoa against stress

Cocoa is an excellent source of magnesium. All the problems linked to stress (nervous fatigue, anxiety, insomnia...) can be relieved thanks to the significant contribution of magnesium. Indeed, the muscle is a great consumer of magnesium.

During a state of stress, the muscles tend to contract more. They then consume all the more magnesium.

However, a magnesium deficiency can also cause muscular contractions (spasmophilia, aches and pains). It is a vicious circle.

To break this vicious cycle, it is important to ensure that your magnesium levels are always optimal.

What if cocoa powder was a natural antidepressant?

It is well known that chocolate cures all sorrows... But did you know that this could be true? Indeed, cocoa is a food rich in tryptophan which is an amino acid precursor of serotonin, otherwise known as the well-being hormone and melatonin (sleep hormone). A serotonin deficiency can cause depression, irritability, emotional lability, violent behaviors, addictions, sugar cravings at the end of the day...

Most antidepressants serve to recapture serotonin and retransmit it to the neurons.
Note: 95% of serotonin is produced from the intestinal microbiota and then reaches the brain via the vagus nerve. One more reason to take care of your intestines!

A melatonin deficiency leads to sleep disorders and especially to problems falling asleep.
Tryptophan is therefore an important amino acid for your good mental health.

Purasana cocoa powder, raw cocoa and that's it

Purasana cocoa powder is obtained from the seeds of Theobroma cacao, a small evergreen tree that grows in tropical regions. The grinding is done cold, which allows to keep all the nutritional qualities of cocoa. Indeed, cocoa naturally contains many nutrients and phytonutrients. It is rich in fiber, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, zinc and copper.

Purasana cocoa powder is also a source of iron. It is pesticide-free, 100% vegetable, gluten-free, lactose-free, soy-free and kosher.
