Holiday menus: 3 ingredients to fight against bad cholesterol

The end of the year is fast approaching and with it its procession of feasts with family, friends and colleagues. It's not always easy to watch our diet at this time of year, especially when we have to watch our cholesterol. Some festive foods such as salmon and oysters are known for their beneficial effects, while others such as logs, foie gras or chocolate are not really recommended. So having a great holiday season while taking care of yourself is sometimes a challenge!

Here are 3 ingredients that will help you fight against bad cholesterol, in addition to being delicious!

  1. Salmon

Don't miss out on these salmon that you are looking forward to this year end! They are not bad for you (as long as you avoid sandwich bread and prefer whole wheat or rye bread). Fatty fish contain a lot of vitamin D and omega 3. Salmon helps reduce inflammation and acts as a barrier to bacteria and viruses. Among its other benefits, it also helps reduce cholesterol levels.

  1. Nuts

The nuts mixes fibers, unsaturated fatty acids and plant sterols. As a result, they help eliminate cholesterol and are especially good for the heart. This winter fruit will help you take care of yourself without feeling like you're depriving yourself too much!

  1. The Wine

Consumed in moderation, wine is a real health asset. Since it is made from grapes, it retains some of the fruit's properties, such as resveratrolwhich helps lower cholesterol levels. So you can enjoy a drink or two during the holidays in peace! But be careful with excesses, you don't want to wake up with a migraine...
