When you buy your salmon...

When you buy your salmon, do you know the word that will make the difference between the one that will bring you good omega3 and another one that will bring you toxins?

I will confess that I am a fan of smoked salmon; when I was young, we didn't think about what kind of fish to buy or where to buy it; we had the choice between a Scottish, Norwegian or Pacific origin.

The salmon world has changed a lot in the last few years and maybe you still buy salmon with your eyes closed... what a mistake!

You've been told that salmon is full of omega 3, good for your system cardiovascular and so you think you're doing the right thing by eating it. In fact, it is quite possible that the one you buy contains not only very little omega3 but also other completely undesirable products such as drug residues or other foods that the farmed salmon have eaten. It is therefore perhaps not what it once was.

To avoid potential problems, I always choose WILD fish and labeling the source as well as "farmed" or "wild" is mandatory.

Wild salmon has the great advantage of not having been forced to eat "specially prepared" food or perhaps treated with drugs; that is why I always eat "wild" smoked salmon, which is also, for my part, much better (but admittedly also a bit more expensive).

Good appetite!
