Oatmeal to start the day

Breakfast is usually too sweet. The traditional toast with jam on white bread eaten on an empty stomach with a glass of juice is a disaster for blood sugar. For a healthy breakfast, oatmeal helps you start the day in great shape. Zoom on the benefits of oatmeal.

Oatmeal to start the day

It is highly recommended to eat protein in the morning because many neurotransmitters are synthesized from amino acids during the day. The oatmeal are an interesting source of vegetable protein. This ritual is suitable for the whole family, as well as for sportsmen and schoolchildren, from the youngest to the oldest.

However, you should be careful to eat organic oats because the spraying of chemical treatments before, during and after harvest makes the cereal particularly toxic.

Oatmeal, from pleasure to health

Oatmeal helps you get off on the right foot. No matter the season, in summer it can be eaten at room temperature or in winter, it brings warmth to those who are cold and that feeling of comfort.

The porridge with oatmeal is an energy bomb. Growing children, teenagers, sportsmen, convalescents will enjoy this porridge with a vegetable drink with almonds for example, enhanced with a touch of honey, oilseeds (walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, Brazil nuts...) and fresh seasonal fruits or dried fruits.

Prepare your oatmeal porridge

Oatmeal is becoming more and more interesting for people who want to vary their breakfast without the addition of gluten. Indeed, oats are a cereal which does not contain gluten. It is therefore suitable for people suffering from celiac disease, intolerance or allergy to gluten. It will be soaked or cooked in almond milk, rice milk, oat milk, etc... and then prepared according to affinity: dark chocolate chips, oilseeds, coconut flakes, fresh seasonal fruits, a little rapeseed oil for omega 3 or coconut oil, almond, hazelnut or peanut puree... The possibilities are endless!

On the other hand, in case of inflammation of the mucous membranes of the stomach and small intestine (such as during gastroenteritis), digestive sensitivity, aerophagia, intestinal fermentation, diarrhea, oatmeal should be prepared with water, lightly salted but without fat.

Beware of phytic acid

Les oatmeallike all whole grains, contain phytic acid, which must be neutralized or it may cause health problems. Indeed, phytic acid decreases the assimilation of calcium, phosphorus, potassium and zinc. Therefore, to consume oat flakes without suffering from nutritional deficiencies, it is advisable to simply soak the flakes for several hours (or overnight) in your vegetable milk or to cook them until they become porridge. That's why we call it oatmeal porridge...

Phytic acid would have significant virtues in the prevention of colon cancer. However, its ability to bind to minerals is not limited to the "bad" ones, responsible for the appearance of cancer, the "good" ones are also inhibited. Between its anti-cancer properties and the demineralization it induces, it is difficult to say today what its real benefits are.

Fortunately, oatmeal is a whole grain product and therefore has a multitude of nutrients that can compensate for the losses.

What you may not have known about oatmeal

Dr. J. Anderson from the University of Kentucky (USA) has found that wholemeal oatmeal, whether raw or cooked, is cholesterol-lowering: bad cholesterol decreases by an average of 20% and good cholesterol increases by 15%. It is therefore a food of choice for all those who suffer from cardiovascular diseases. A bowl of oats every day is enough. For more effectiveness, eat whole oatmeal in the morning for breakfast and in the evening, at least for 3 weeks.

  • Oatmeal for a light digestion

Oatmeal is slightly diuretic and easy to digest. It is also hypoglycemic, which means that it lowers the blood sugar level, acts as a regulator in case of hypertension, regulates the transit and has an appetite suppressant effect.

So now that you know all the benefits of organic oatmeal, you know what you have to do in the morning, bon appétit!
