Having beautiful skin at 40: the right gestures

As you approach 40, your skin begins to show a certain loss of elasticity, allowing wrinkles and fine lines to appear on your forehead, the corners of your eyes and mouth. The effects of time can be contained with a daily routine and natural products adapted to your face. Discover the right gestures to adopt for a radiant skin as you approach 40!

Make-up removal, an essential step

Whether you wear makeup or not, this step is necessary. It allows you to remove not only all traces of cosmetics but also residues of pollution, dust and dirt. City life damages the skin, which is exposed to a whole host of micro-aggressions that, when accumulated, accelerate cellular aging.

For a natural make-up removal, you can opt for a vegetable oil such as coconut or jojoba oil. A few drops in the palm of your hand and then apply to the entire face, insisting on the areas where makeup has been applied: eyes, eyebrows, eyelashes, lips.

Although applying fat to the face may seem like you're greasing your skin, it's not! The vegetable oils have antiseptic, antibacterial, nourishing and sebum regulating virtues.

Use adapted hydrolats

After make-up removal or as a lotion in the morning, hydrolats are perfect for taking care of all skin types. Depending on the quality of your skin, whether you are prone to acne during the premenstrual period or if your skin is reactive and tends to tighten, you can choose the following hydrolats:

The hydrosol will be sprayed as a mist directly on the face and then remove the excess by dabbing with a clean cloth or, alternatively, gently apply the hydrosol with a washable cotton pad.

Vegetable oils for skin in their thirties

To anticipate the loss of elasticity, it is necessary to take action as soon as possible. For this, in your daily care, you can add a vegetable oil according to your skin:

  • Oily skin : HV of jojobablack cumin, apricot kernels.
  • Dry skin : HV of musk rosee, bourrache, argan, macadamia.
  • Sensitive skin: oil of borage, argan, sweet almond.

Kobido, an anti-wrinkle massage

Kobido is a facial massage technique that softens and tones the skin. Originating in Japan, this massage is practiced daily using precise gestures such as palpating, kneading and effleurage, following the direction of lymphatic circulation. Wrinkles are reduced and the skin becomes firmer.

Many videos are available on the internet to learn the basics of this self-massage. Otherwise, you can either train yourself or call a professional who will take care of you and reveal all your beauty!

Apply adapted serums

Products labelled "anti-wrinkle" are applied before wrinkles appear. They nourish the skin in depth and the active ingredients contained in them help limit the effects of time. Generally rich in antioxidants, they fight against the harmful effects of free radicals. Most of these cosmetics are concentrates. One to two drops per application are sufficient.

BONUS: The ideal plate for beautiful skin at 40

Taking care of your skin also means taking care of what you eat. The skin reveals your inner state. If you wish to know more, do not hesitate to consult a naturopath who will be able to inform you and accompany you to relieve your skin problems.

For a beautiful skin at 40 years old here is what should be in your plate:

  • Fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables: for their vitamins, minerals, trace elements and their richness in antioxidants.
  • Proteins: red meat twice a week maximum, chicken, fish, eggs... beware of cold cuts!
  • Organic whole or semi-whole grains, avoid white flours.
  • Omega 3: cold sea fish, oilseeds, chia seeds, olive oil, rapeseed oil, first cold-pressed virgin linseed oil.
  • Legumes: remember to soak them overnight before cooking to break down the phytic acid.

Beware of excess: sedentary lifestyle, alcohol, fast food, sweets, sodas, sports... "Too much kills the best"!
