Simple and natural tips to digest well after the holidays

They say prevention is better than cure, except sometimes you don't see the excesses coming!  Perhaps you felt like indulging yourself more than usual? Especially since this year's Christmas and New Year's Eve celebrations have a very special flavor... Now, you may feel tired, heavy, full for the next 2 weeks, with nausea to boot... Before thinking about detox, discover some simple and natural tips to implement in your daily life to relieve your discomfort and regain form and vitality.


Venir à bout des ballonnements

Poor dietary associations, excess, poor chewing, unbalanced microbiota, lactose or gluten intolerance, can cause bloating. Called "abdominal meteorism" from its medical term, ballooning is a buildup of gas in the stomach or intestine usually accompanied by belching and flatulence. It's totally benign but pretty damn uncomfortable...

  • Active plant carbon: as advised by the manufacturer or your pharmacist.

  • Green clay: clay water preparation. : in a glass taller than wide, dilute 1 tablespoon of green clay in water. Mix well and let it settle overnight. The next day, drink only the surface water without mixing. Use only wooden utensils to mix them. To be taken away from any medication. 

  • Star anise infusion and/or fennel seed: min 75cl/day.

  • Walnut bud: walnut bud glycerol macerate acts on intestinal flora, liver and pancreas function by stimulating the production of digestive juices


Reflux et acidité gastrique

Besides any gastric malformation or pathology, reflux and gastric acidity are the consequence of dietary excesses (too fatty, too much water, too spicy, coffee...), hypersecretion of acid and poor emotional management. To avoid acid reflux, it is recommended to wait at least 1h30 before lying down. Nevertheless, to help with digestion, here are some tips:

  • Fig Tree Bud: Fig tree bud macerate is "THE" digestion bud, whether it is food or emotional... It calms stomach inflammation, acts as a band-aid and soothes the nervous system that pushes the stomach to produce too much acid. It thus fights against gastric acidity and gastroesophageal reflux that can create that famous burning sensation along the esophagus. 

  • Liquorice infusion: Licorice acts as a gastric bandage. However, over the long term, it increases blood pressure. Do not take if you are under hypotensive treatment. Min 75cl/day

  • Green Clay: as mentioned above, green clay water has soothing properties on the entire digestive tract


La nausée ou le retour du bâton

The end of the year celebrations are the occasion of all excesses: chocolate, copious and watered meals, consumption of excitants (coffee, cigarette...)... The liver can no longer keep up and finds itself saturated. It then launches the warning sign: nausea thus involving a fast by default to restore health. Listen to your body!   • Ginger, lemon or peppermint essential oil: inhale directly from the bottle

  • Ginger infusion: ginger is recognized by the HAS (Haute Autorité de Santé) and the WHO for its effectiveness against nausea. You can add the juice of 1/2 lemon and lemon balm.
