AMOU'ROUCOU ORGANIC: What do you know about Roucou?
Nicknamed urucum, onoto, lipstick tree or achiote, the Roucou tree is a shrub with spiny red fruits native to South America. From these fruits are extracted red seeds, rich in beta-carotene and used as a flavoring, natural coloring, cosmetic and pharmaceutical ingredient. Their anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, protective, healing, regenerating, astringent and antibacterial properties make them a real health remedy.
Roucou seeds contain 13% carotenoids, including bixin. This is the source of the molecule's beautiful red color. It's also interesting to note that carotenoids are excellent antioxidants, which means they have the ability to reduce oxidative stress in our skin, slowing down skin aging. Roucou is 100 times richer in beta-carotene than carrots, and therefore stimulates melanin production.
Finally, it is moisturizing, thanks to its vitamin A content (not recommended for pregnant women). Antibacterial and antiseptic, it soothes and repairs irritated and damaged skin.

If you prefer delivery by Colissimo Extra with required signature, an additional cost will be applied, so please contact us before choosing this method.
