When we think of body care, we usually think of the face, arms and legs but we sometimes forget some very important areas: the neck and décolleté. Yet this part of the body is the one that shows the first signs of skin aging. The skin of the décolleté is thinner than in other places and therefore it is damaged more quickly by losing its elasticity.
Anti-aging on the décolleté
Applying a normal anti-aging cream to the neck and décolleté is a gesture that should be inserted into your daily routine. To care for this area, there are special creams for the décolleté. Almost similar to anti-aging face creams, neckline creams will also focus on the specific needs of the neck area: elasticity, tone and firmness. In this way, the cream limits the appearance of small wrinkles or the premature slackening of the skin.
These creams are also composed of a sun protection factor to protect the décolleté from the aggressive rays of the sun, which are also factors in skin aging.
Which products for the neck and décolleté?
Creams for décolleté
Creams intended for the décolleté must be composed of hyaluronic acid to stimulate the production of collagen and thus improve the elasticity of the skin.
To choose a good cream, you must choose one adapted to your skin type (normal, oily, dry) and check that its texture is not too thick.
Exfoliation
A neckline scrub should be done with a scrubbing cream composed of very fine grains intended for the face. By performing it once a week, the neckline scrub will help stimulate blood circulation and promote cell renewal.
After each exfoliation, it is important to apply a moisturizing cream to the area in question.
Oils to tighten the skin of the décolleté
Some vegetable oils have active ingredients that help the skin regain its elasticity. They are therefore ideal to take care of the décolleté by preventing sagging skin.
The most effective oils are rose hip oil, jojoba oil,, argan oil,fig oil and grape seed oil. Flower-based oils are also appreciated because, in addition to their benefits, they bring a nice floral scent to the skin.
Décolleté, its need for sun protection
In the summer, by the pool or at the beach, it is customary to protect yourself by spreading sunscreen all over your body. However, it is not only at these times that our neck and neckline need to be protected. We often forget it but even in a T-shirt this zone is exposed to the sun.
Thus, to avoid premature aging of the skin, it is necessary to protect oneself from UVA rays which are present all year round. These ultraviolet rays are responsible for the majority of skin problems: wrinkles, spots and loss of skin firmness.
Fortunately, most day creams for the face and neckline now have a minimum sun protection factor to protect the skin at all times. However, in summer, it is better to add a second, more powerful sun protection to prevent skin aging and the risk of sunburn.
Muscular exercises for a healthy décolleté
For a less sagging neck
Place your tongue on your palate.
Slide it towards the back of the mouth.
Hold this position by extending the head upwards to stretch the neck.
Hold for 30 seconds.
Repeat several times a day.
Another exercise can also be performed in addition. Simply pronounce "X" several times, exaggerating the movement of the mouth.
To have a raised chest
Take a 1 or 2 kg dumbbell in each hand.
With arms outstretched, make vertical beats in front of you.
Always with arms outstretched, open and close your arms horizontally (as if to give a clap or a hug).
For even more efficiency, you can do this exercise lying on your back.
Moisturizing the décolleté with a homemade recipe
To keep skin hydrated, creams are not the only solutions available. Thanks to a few ingredients, it is easy to make your own moisturizing lotion for the décolleté.
For this you need :
1 crushed avocado
1 tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel
3 teaspoons of olive oil
In a ceramic or glass bowl, mix all the ingredients together until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous paste.
Apply the paste to the well-cleaned décolleté and leave it on for about 20 minutes before rinsing.
