Whether dry, damaged or oily, when your hair is in poor condition there are several products to help you solve the problem. Of course, shampoo is the first product to choose for healthy hair. However, your hair has an additional ally in overcoming hair problems: the mask.
Hair masks: is it really necessary?
The mask is an essential addition to your bathroom routine for those who want to have shiny hair. Even though it may seem superfluous, the mask is a product that is useful for the health of the hair because it nourishes, repairs, strengthens, adds volume or adds shine.
How do I make a hair mask?
Mask before or after shampoo: hair care products in order
In the bathroom all the hair products are mixed together. So how do you know in which order to apply them?
Hair care starts in the shower with the application of the shampooThe main purpose of the shampoo is to rid the scalp and ends of all their dirt (dust, excess sebum, pollution...). For this, the application of a small quantity of shampoo on the scalp by massaging for a few moments is sufficient.
After rinsing the shampoo comes the second step: the conditioner. The choice of conditioner is important for certain hair types. Dry, curly or damaged hair will benefit from the use of a nourishing and moisturising conditioner. However, other hair types may not need to go through this step.
Finally comes the application of the mask. It should be applied for about 30 minutes to towel-dried hair. Once the cream has been applied, it is advisable to comb the hair to distribute the treatment evenly along its length.
Application of the hair mask
Usually the mask is not applied directly on the skull but rather on the lengths and tips. The roots, which are often greasier than the rest of the hair, rarely need extra care. Moreover, the application of a mask on the scalp tends to make the hair heavier and counteracts the effect of volume.
The frequency of use of the mask varies according to the condition of the hair. In general, it is advisable to apply the treatment once a week. However, in the case of damaged hair, a repair mask can be applied after each shampoo to reinforce the nourishing and repairing effects.
