Grapefruit: a relaxing and invigorating essential oil
Extracted by cold pressing the fruit's peel, Bioflore organic grapefruit essential oil is distinguished by its sweet, fruity, and refreshing aroma, which is rounder and sweeter than that of lemon. Rich in limonene, it is known for its cleansing, invigorating, and relaxing properties, ideal for purifying the air and restoring balance and vitality.
For the skin, it is valued for its astringent, purifying, and lipolytic effects, making it an ally in anti-cellulite treatments and for combination to oily skin. When diffused, it helps to disinfect the atmosphere while promoting relaxation and good mood. Its luminous fragrance is reminiscent of the freshness of childhood and provides a real feeling of lightness.
Directions for use
- Diffusion: a few drops to purify and pleasantly fragrance rooms.
- In massage: dilute 2 to 3 drops in a teaspoon of vegetable oil (calophyllum or jojoba ) to tone the skin or accompany a slimming treatment.
- In cooking: one drop is enough to flavor a dessert, fruit salad, or vinaigrette.
Precautions
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not use during the first 3 months of pregnancy or on young children without medical advice.
- Given the risk of photosensitivity associated with the presence of coumarins, also ensure that doses are low in mixtures. To be on the safe side, avoid exposing treated skin to daylight for a few hours after application.
- This oil has an irritating effect when used undiluted, so be sure to dilute it sufficiently for use on the skin.
- Avoid contact with the eyes.
- Risk of allergy (limonene, linalool, citral, benzyl benzoate): be careful not to use too much in mixtures. A patch test on the inner elbow is recommended prior to any skin application (at least 48 hours before use).
- Please note: unlike the fruit itself and its juice, there are no known incompatibilities between grapefruit essential oil and certain medications.
- This essential oil is pure and therefore powerful. This essential oil can be used in cooking if it is first diluted according to the recommendations, dispersed in a fatty substance (oil, dairy product), alcoholic substance, or syrupy substance (honey, syrup). It cannot be ingested undiluted.
