An essential oil that restores balance to the nervous system
Derived from the distillation of the young twigs and small fruits of the bitter orange tree (Citrus aurantium ssp. amara), Bioflore’s organic petitgrain bigarade essential oil is renowned for its calming and balancing properties.
Its green, floral, and slightly bitter scent soothes tension, relaxes the body, and promotes restful sleep. Traditionally used to support the nervous system, it helps calm the physical symptoms of stress, such as palpitations, muscle spasms, or a feeling of tightness.
Rich in esters and linalool, this essential oil acts as a true emotional regulator. It provides soothing comfort during periods of anxiety, mental fatigue, or emotional loneliness. It is also used for its healing and balancing properties on oily or irritated skin.
Directions for Use
- For massage: Dilute 2 to 3 drops in a teaspoon of carrier oil and apply to the solar plexus, the nape of the neck, or the arch of the foot.
- In a diffuser, to soothe the mind and relax before sleep.
- For skincare: Add 1 drop to a small amount of day cream to balance oily skin.
- May be used in cooking if first diluted according to recommendations and mixed into a fatty substance (oil, dairy product), an alcoholic beverage, or a syrupy substance (honey, syrup). It must not be ingested undiluted.
Precautions
- Allergy risk (limonene, linalool, geraniol): Be careful not to use too much in blends. A patch test on the inner elbow is recommended before any topical application (at least 48 hours before use).
- Not recommended during the first three months of pregnancy.
- Avoid contact with the eyes.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- This essential oil is pure and therefore potent.
