A variety of foods means good health and longevity

Contrary to popular belief, regardless of age, barring possible health problems, everyone should eat everything. A varied diet in reasonable quantities is preferable in order to ensure rich and diverse intakes. A balanced diet requires three to four meals a day as needed.

These meals should not be too high in fat, but can contain starchy foods, meat (in small quantities), eggs or fish, and of course vegetables and fruit can be part of all meals, both raw and cooked. Many nutritionists tend to advise against dairy products because of their allergenic and inflammatory properties.

Excess is bad for everything

Since we know that excess is bad for everything, why not think about listening to your body and your desires rather than imposing on yourself sometimes painful diets? Contrary to some well-established ideas, bread and potatoes do not make you fat as long as they are not consumed in excessive quantities.

You should also vary your fat intake by including flaxseed, olive or rapeseed oil in your diet, for example, to enhance your salads. One last essential but often neglected tip: remember to drink 1.5 liters of water per day. This water intake is essential to avoid drying out the tissues and also to purify and clean your body from the inside. The ideal is to learn to drink "without thirst", thirst being the first sign of dehydration. Other beverages quench your thirst, but do not hydrate. However, avoid harmful factors such as microwave and barbecue cooking.

The scientific community currently recognizes that cooking or barbecuing leads to the formation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) that are particularly carcinogenic. It is also best to avoid salt, which promotes cardiovascular problems and exacerbates the sensation of thirst.

We can't repeat enough that it's best to prefer the most natural and least denatured foods possible. And if you can, you should eat organic food as often as possible.Feel free to be creative and imaginative from a culinary point of view. All the aromatic herbs and spices will help you. Mix sweet, hot and bitter flavors, and colors (salads, sprouts and various vegetables) that will bring originality to your presentations. Think of decorating plates and dishes with different seeds, dried fruits, algae and sprouted seeds. Among the algae and sprouted seeds, there are even red and pink ones that will offer a touch of fantasy that your guests will surely appreciate. Innovation sometimes reveals surprising and totally unexpected tastes and flavors.

Cooking and eating are two occupations that should remain a pleasure and whose nutritional and emotional benefits will be much more beneficial if they are practiced without any stress in a joyful, loving and cheerful atmosphere!
