Protect your intestine with kimchi

It is absolutely imperative to realize that our lifestyle has a fundamental impact on our health.

Even if 2500 years ago Hippocrates said: "Let your food be your medicine", the industrial society and most of our fellow citizens have forgotten this basic principle of life and health.

Currently, there is a renewed interest in healthy eating and more and more scientific studies confirm that problems as serious as heart disease and diabetes can actually be influenced by the quality of a person's diet.

If food alone cannot always overcome certain pathologies, one fact is certain: in the long term, it shapes our terrain, a terrain that constitutes the breeding ground for future pathologies. It is therefore important to consider food hygiene in a preventive way and in terms of its long-term effects.

And when we talk about food hygiene and food, we are of course talking about healthy, natural, untreated, unprocessed food that has not undergone any genetic manipulation.

One of the organs fundamental to maintaining health is the gut. Some people even call it a "second brain".

Supporting intestinal flora and proper functioning means amplifying the health potential of our body. Whether it is indigestion, gas, bloating, cramping and pain in the belly, constipation or diarrhea, these are all signs of intestinal dysfunction and an imbalance of flora. It is important to know that processed food, additives, heavy metals and pesticides tend to destroy this biotope.

Scientists currently agree that 80% of our immune system depends on the state of our gut seeding. To maintain this ideal environment, it is advisable to eat fermented or golden foods regularly seeded with supplements containing a large number of beneficial germs.

kimchi

In Korea, one of the traditional dishes called kimchi is made of fermented vegetables and a mixture of peppers, chilies, white onions, garlic and spices. This preparation allows to detoxify and to evacuate toxic products while reconstituting the intestinal flora.

A 2009 study showed that an organophosphate insecticide was 83% degraded in 3 days when kimchi was consumed and totally after 9 days.

Natasha Campbell-McBride, MD, developed the Gap Diet to repair gut permeability. It is now known that allergy or autoimmune problems probably originate in intestinal hyper-permeability. But that's not all, as this female physician has demonstrated the link between intestinal permeability and psychological, neurological or intellectual disorders such as autism, hyperactivity and attention disorders or simply academic difficulties. Bone broth seems to be one of the keys to the diet recommended by this doctor. This broth is very popular in the original food and paleolithic diet circles. It is a traditional food and has been prized throughout the ages and across the globe for its richness in nutrients.

Moringa is the name of a plant native to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. It is known for its long list of medicinal virtues. These leaves, which can be eaten like spinach, raw or cooked, are full of vitamins and minerals. Their high fiber content and anti-bacterial activity also make them very valuable. Moringa also contains isothiocyanates which have been shown to have a protective effect against infection of the pylorus by Helicobacter pylori, a bacterium involved in gastric ulcers, acid reflux and stomach cancer.

Probably better known than the previous plant, aloe vera by the gel it releases lines the intestinal wall thus making it impermeable and allowing it to repair itself. This results in improved absorption of nutrients and intestinal problems such as Crohn's disease, rectocolitis, irritable bowel syndrome and even gastroesophageal reflux.

Aloe juice is made from the thickest leaves of the plant, which is easily cultivated and grows quite quickly.

Chia seeds are another source of fiber and anti-inflammatory chemicals that can come to the rescue of your gastrointestinal system. To benefit from its virtues, taking two tablespoons per day is enough.
