Grapefruit seed extract, benefits and use

If there is one natural remedy to have at home, it is grapefruit seed extract or GSE. Its multiple properties make it an ally of choice as much in the field of prevention as in the relief of everyday ailments.  Discover in this article the numerous benefits of GSE along with some examples of its practical use in naturopathy.

Découverte de l'extrait de pépin de pamplemousse

In 1980, Jacob Harich, an American immunologist physicist, noticed that the grapefruit seeds did not degrade in his compost. He then decided to analyze them and discovered their high content of bio flavonoids which give them interesting antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties.

Recommended as a treatment for gastroenteritis (among other things) by some U.S. doctors, GPE is also excellent for prevention, and for the whole family, even the youngest.

The antibacterial and antiviral properties of GSE will be a great help in winter to protect you or relieve you of seasonal illnesses . At the first signs of a cold, cough, flu-like condition or stomach ache, depending on the laboratory you can basically take up to 45 drops diluted in a little water per day.

However, its application is more interesting in prevention. In cases of epidemics, in addition to the usual precautions (wash your hands, avoid contact with sick people, etc...), you can take about 20 drops diluted in a little water every 3 days, in the morning.

GSE is an ally for people with candidiasis and other fungal infections. In this regard, I invite you to read our many articles that develop the subject, you will find many natural tips to limit its spread or even get rid of it...

GSE is a powerful antifungal that helps you contain or even eradicate naturally (provided you set up a special diet) digestive (candidiasis), oral (thrush), vaginal, etc. fungal infections...

Practical tip: In case of thrush in newborns, if you are breastfeeding: apply GSP on your breast and take it internally as well. Then a few drops diluted in a little water to (try to) put in his little mouth with a pipette. The taste is extremely bitter, your child may make a face!

The bitterness of GPE helps with sugar withdrawal. Diluted in a large bottle of water to be drunk throughout the day, GSE cuts down on sugar cravings, drains the liver and limits the development of candida albicans, a fungus in the digestive tract responsible for many ailments of which sugar compulsion is one of the symptoms.

This makes GSE a remedy to incorporate into your anti-candida diet or during sugar withdrawal.

To relieve acne problems, GSE is used internally and can also be applied to the skin with a washable wipe. Taken internally, it will help with liver drainage and externally, itwill cleanse the skin. Be careful, however, not to apply it every day to the entire face at the risk of weakening the epidermis, the best thing being to truly target and localize its application only on pimples and other blemishes.

The GSE is also very effective in making a wart go away due to its antiviral properties. Take internally (dose to be determined with your naturopath) and apply directly to the wart several times a day. This will dry out on the surface and deep down and then eventually disappear.

The GSE has the advantage of facilitating liver drainage. Its bitterness stimulates digestion and participates in liver detox by supporting the work of the liver while increasing bile secretion.

Thus, not only do you digest better but also as part of a specific detox lifestyle and especially adapted to your condition, you purify your body.

It does not in any way replace a medical consultation especially if the symptoms persist or worsen.
