My natural first-aid kit for the summer

Burns, sunburns, insect bites, blisters, motion sickness, turista... summer is full of surprises! Find in this article the essentials to have on hand to spend amost serene summer.



Huile de millepertuis pour soulager les brûlures

St. John's wort oil applied topically to a small, uninfected area without blisters, relieves superficial burns including sunburn. St. John's wort oil is antibacterial and activates healing.

Caution: St. John's wort oil is photosensitizing. It is not recommended to expose the "oiled" area in the sun otherwise spots or skin reactions may appear.


Huile de coco pour protéger la peau et les cheveux

Coconut oil deeply nourishes skin, lips and hair after sunbathing and also when they are dried out by salty air and sea water.

Tip : as a hair mask once a week on the length of the hair combined with aloe vera gel.


Gel d’aloé vera

Aloe vera applied after sun exposure allows rehydrating the skin while prolonging the tan.

Aloe vera gel can be found commercially already packaged. Otherwise, you can buy the whole plant or just the leaf and extract the gel yourself.


Huile essentielle de géranium rosat (Pelargonium Roseum) contre les moustiques

Mosquitoes are the great plague of summer evenings. Rose geranium essential oil has the ability to scare them away. However, its effect is temporary, so it will be necessary to renew regularly its application.

Tip for a peaceful night: put a few drops in a dish near the bed as well as on the sheets and curtains if you sleep with the windows open.
 


Huile essentielle de menthe poivrée (Mentha Piperita)

This essential oilis perfect in olfaction to relieve headaches as well as motion sickness. In addition, 2 to 3 drops diluted in aloe vera gel will relieve heavy legs.


Le vinaigre, remède de grand-mère pour soulager les démangeaisons

Despite your best efforts, have you been stung bya mosquito or a bee? Have you been lying in the grass and are you suffering from the itch of Augustus? Are you plagued by fleas? Are you a victim of a stinging nettle? Vinegar (white, cider, wine, balsamic or other) is the ultimate natural remedy to relieve any type of itch.

Tip: put some in a roll-on for more convenient carrying and application.


Probiotiques et huile essentielle d’origan compact (Origanum Compactum) pour éviter la turista

Turista or traveler's diarrhea is extremely common when travelingabroad. To avoid it, take a cure of probiotics 15 days before leaving and carry with you some compact oregano essential oil which is the most powerful essential oil in terms of antibiotic and antibacterial effectiveness. The first 3 days of the stay are the most critical, it is during this period that it is interesting to take 3 drops per day (1 with each meal) to prevent any unfortunate infection.

Reminder :the essential oil of compact oregano is strongly not recommendedin pregnant and nursing women and children.
