The ocean for an invigorating vacation

This summer, you may have decided like many vacationers to go to the seaside to recharge your batteries? Between sunbathing, swimming, walking, cultural visits and other leisure activities, why not take advantage of the invigorating sea air to take care of your health? Here are a few tips and tricks to take advantage of it.

Prendre un bol d’air marin

The sea air is not only rich in mineral salts including iodine which is important in the balance of the thyroid function but also in negative ions. The latter are beneficial to your health by promoting relaxation, concentration, sleep, oxygenation... because indeed, polluted city air and electromagnetic devices are sources of positive ions that disrupt the above functions.

To illustrate this, before a storm, don't we say that the atmosphere is electric? Well indeed, this one is charged with positive ions and you feel oppressed, annoyed, irritable... So, a good walk under the sea spray can only provide you with the greatest good!!

Marcher dans l’eau salée

Comme chacun sait, l’eau froide est vivifiante. L’eau de mer donne un coup de fouet et stimule la vasoconstriction du réseau sanguin dans les jambes, tonifiant ainsi le retour veineux.

Tip: To prevent heavy legs and varicose veins, you can perform a a walk fast and dynamic in the water (reaching mid-calf).

Poissons et fruits de mer

Spending your vacation at the beach is an opportunity to enjoy freshly caught fish and seafood.

As mentioned in the article " Seaweed in your plate "A large majority of French people would be deficient in iodine. Filling up on seafood is therefore a good solution to make up your iodine needs.

Moreover, fish is a food of choice for good health. You'll find primarily long-chain Omega 3 fatty acids and quality protein.

In order to keep all these benefits and to avoid any contamination with heavy metals, it is however recommended to eat small fish such as sardines, red mullet or sole , as raw as possible. To avoid boiled or fried fish that will lose all nutritional value.

Marcher pieds nus dans le sable

In the morning or at the end of the day, when the sand has a comfortable temperature, walking barefoot is a very good exercise to tone the legs and ankles. In addition, the grains of sand rolling under your feet stimulate the sense of touch as well as certain reflex zones under the arch of the foot which is extremely receptive as evidenced by the principles of foot reflexology.

Finally, the work of the ankles and toes stimulates the sensors of balance at the same time.

Lavement sinus à l’eau salée

We had devoted an article on the jala neti Which is an Ayurvedic technique of sinus enema with salt water. During your stay at the sea (or in the ocean), you can test this ancestral method by "breathing in" one nostril after the other of the sea water that you will have collected between your hands.

"Without knowing it, surfers already wash their nasal cavities during each session when they go under the waves (provided that the bathing water is not itself contaminated with bacteria…).

...).
You can even clear your nose without putting your head under water. Try walking by the ocean when there is sea spray: you will notice that your nose spontaneously clears up after about 15 minutes. " Surf-prevention.com

Méditation lever ou coucher de soleil

Depending on where you are vacationing, take time to meditate at least once at sunrise or sunset facing the sea. If you're on the Atlantic coast, you can't escape the sunset in the ocean. Sitting in the sand facing the immensity, let yourself be carried by the sound of the waves while admiring the power and magnificence of the sun and the ocean. Take advantage of this moment to do heart coherence or any other breathing exercise to amplify the feeling of relaxation and presence to oneself.

After all these little tips to perfect your stay at the beach, it only remains for me to wish you a beautiful and invigorating vacation!
