Energy balls: what do we need?

  • A food processor
  • 1 cup of oilseeds of your choice To know: almonds, cashews, pecans, macadamia nuts, Brazil nuts, peanuts, etc.
  • 1 cup of dates, previously pitted sirop biologique.

Note: prefer dates with no added glucose syrup.

  • 2 teaspoons of Chia seeds

Homemade health snack: the recipe for energy balls

Place the oilseeds in the food processor and blend roughly once. The nuts should be ground into small, fine pieces (but not really powdered).

Then add the dates and continue blending until you have a smooth, homogeneous paste.

When the texture is ideal, form medium-sized balls and press them hard with your hands to obtain a perfect sphere.

Sprinkle the energy balls with Chia seeds for outdoor decoration.

Place in the refrigerator for a few hours to rest before consumption.

Energy balls: healthy alternatives

This basic recipe can be modified according to your desires. There are many alternatives:

- Dates can be replaced with fig or abric.

- Dried fruit can be combined with the addition of goji berries, cranberries, dried mangoes, raisins, etc.

- Pieces of quality dark chocolate can be inserted into the mix, as can raw cocoa.

- The decoration can change: sesame seeds, poppy seeds, almond powder, etc.
