The 10 essentials of the natural pharmacy at home

You want to take care of your health and well-being naturally and you don't know where to start? Discover the 10 essentials to have in your natural medicine cabinet without breaking the bank!

1- Grapefruit seed extract

Grapefruit seed extract (GSE) is the cure for all the everyday boo-boos. It is antiseptic, antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral. You can take it orally or apply it directly to acne pimples, wart or fungus.

Its dosage depends on the manufacturer. Generally, in case of crisis, it is advised to take 15 drops 3 times a day. In prevention, as soon as the first flu and gastroenteritis appear, 15 drops per day 2 to 3 times a week will be enough.

2- Green Clay

Not very expensive, thegreen clay should be in every home! An article had been devoted to it so much its benefits are numerous.

Applied in cataplasm, it helps the regeneration of tissues and thus the healing process. It also relieves sunburn and superficial burns.

Taken internally in the form of clay water (see the article in question), it protects you from gastrointestinal problems and regulates your transit while evacuating toxins and pathogenic bacteria and viruses.

3- Probiotics

Although it may seem strange to you, it is always good to have probiotics at home to:

  • reseed good bacteria after taking medications such as antibiotics and anti-inflammatories.
  • take a preventive cure before going abroad,
  • work on your immunity at the beginning of winter

4- Oregano compact (origanum compactum) essential oil.

This essential oil is the most powerful of all anti-bacterial and anti-viral essential oils. A true natural antibiotic without the disadvantages of synthetic ones (disturbance of the intestinal flora, temporary immune weakening, etc.), it must be handled with care.

Formally not recommended for children and pregnant and/or breastfeeding women.

In prevention: drop once a week taken internally diluted in a compote, a piece of bread or a spoonful of your meal.

5- St. John's wort vegetable oil

Although it is photosensitizing (be careful!), St. John's wort vegetable oil relieves light, superficial and small burns such as sunburns for example. You can also apply it to sensitive and atopic skin.

6- Aloe vera gel

In addition to its use in natural cosmetics to take care of your hair and to moisturize your skin, the gel ofaloe vera calms the itching of eczema and dry skin.

In addition, certain preparations based on aloe vera taken internally improve intestinal inflammation.

7- The fig bud

Gemmotherapy is a branch of herbal medicine just like aromatherapy. Here, it is the bud of the plant in question that is macerated in a glycerine mixture. The fig tree bud had given rise to an article because not only are its benefits numerous but everyone can benefit from it, (very) young and old.

The bud of fig tree is the ally of the anxious ones. It calms the nervous system facilitating sleep and digestion. Because, as everyone knows, stress "nibbles" at the stomach until it is damaged (dyspepsia, ulcer...). With the fig tree bud, you act not only on the physical level (organic) but also psychic (emotions).

8- Colloidal Silver

Colloidal silver is not widely used, but it is a powerful anti-bacterial agent. In France, it is forbidden to take it orally. You can use it to disinfect a wound.

9- Marjoram shell essential oil (origanum majorana)

If children cannot take oregano essential oil, you can give them marjoram essential oil diluted in a little vegetable oil by massaging it under the arch of the foot, on the abdomen, the chest or the back. This essential oil is anxiolytic, soothing and is antibacterial especially on staphylococcus aureus.

Do not use in pregnant women under 3 months and in children under 3 months. As a precaution, do not use essential oils without the advice of a professional (doctor, pharmacist, naturopath)

10- activated carbon.

All pharmacies can provide you with them. Activated charcoal is the king of digestion! Feeling bloated? A little coal... Do you suffer from flatulence? A little charcoal... Charcoal acts as a gas sponge, considerably improving digestion.

BONUS

The biggest family pharmacy is your kitchen! Prepare dishes with fresh, organic or garden produce, with a maximum of seasonal fruits and vegetables, herbs and spices. Limit consumption of red meat, sugars and industrial products. As the adage attributed to Hippocrates, the father of medicine, says: "Let food be your first medicine"!
