The microwave, the silent killer

In 2018, the microwave is the most widely used appliance on a daily basis for reheating dishes, food and even sometimes, for some of us, for cooking a whole meal in place of the traditional oven. Of course, progress does not stop and we will certainly soon invent machines or appliances that will cook by themselves (Maybe it already exists? Certainly).

In our kitchens since the 80's, the microwave is a utensil that was born from a study established during the second world war. Indeed, experiments proved that it was possible to cook food thanks to electromagnetic waves, the same ones used during the war to detect radars but also source of burns for many soldiers.

Although illustrated as the most indispensable tool for modern families in the 90's and the quick solution to everything, the microwave is nevertheless a cooking system that induces electromagnetic waves which produce very short waves. This wavelength is obviously harmful to the overall health of humans (but also of plants, animals and the environment). How can a machine be so much a symbol of ease and at the same time be so disruptive to health?

The health damage.

These invisible disturbances are however very real and very dangerous. For example, by positioning yourself in the same room as a microwave oven, you may experience a loss of energy, which can lead to fatigue that is sometimes inexplicable for some people.

Other damages have also been listed by the WHO such as burns, sterility cases and even, in some situations, cataracts or disturbances for people with pacemakers. A microwave oven turned off or closed is not enough for our protection because despite the insulation provided by the manufacturers (different standards from one country to another), leakage is very present and it impacts our daily life negatively.

The solution would be to completely unplug the device when not in use. If this is possible in your life, the perfect solution would be to change the way you consume by completely removing this appliance from your home.

How does the microwave degrade food?

In addition to the damage done to our physical and energetic bodies, the microwave greatly damages the food it is supposed to cook. Indeed, the waves of our microwaves act mainly on water molecules, so it is the watery quality of a food that will define its cooking speed: the more water the element is composed of, the faster it will cook. This implies that the water-soluble vitamins (vitamin C and those of the B group, essential to our well-being) will be the most affected by this method of cooking and therefore the first to be destroyed by heat.

In addition, the composition of the food itself will be transformed, which implies that food that enters a microwave will come out chemically different (altered molecular composition, broken intercellular bonds, etc.).

When you are aware of the energetic impact of everything, it is easy to understand that such a cooking method stresses the food, which in turn will stress your body.

But finally, what do we really consume with such a cooking method ? Do you honestly think that a carrot cooked in the microwave is a carrot that makes sense nutritionally and energetically for you?

In a society where waves pollute us more and more with wifi antennas, the daily use of phones and computers, why not try to limit the damage by modifying our life habits while being aware that the ease that the microwave oven brings us also kills us slowly over the years. Finally, our ancestors had a much healthier life than ours, they should serve as an example to us because the industrialization of our society is killing our generation too quickly.
