Aspartame, a poison on sale in our stores?

Aspartame has been in the news for some time. So what is it really?

Aspartame (aspartyl-phenylalanine-methylester) is a synthetic sweetener, composed of two amino acids (phenylalanine and aspartic acid) and methanol.

It was discovered in 1965 by a chemist from the pharmaceutical company Searle. Its first marketing authorization was granted in the United States by the FDA in 1974. Its commercial exploitation was launched by Donald Rumsfeld who made his fortune and influence from it. Searle was bought in 1985 by Monsanto, the GMO specialist.

This subsidiary is currently called NutraSweet/Kelco (it is classic to change the names to confuse the issue). Conveniently Monsanto has now become Pharmacia Corp after a merger, and NutraSweet has been sold to J.W. Childs Equity Partners.

In 1988, aspartame was authorized in France as a table sweetener and in many foods. It is coded as E951 in the additive classification. It is currently the most widely used sweetener in France (Canderel®). In the United States, aspartame is still one of the 100 different products used as a sweetener, and this "poison" is now distributed and available in more than 90 countries around the world.
Its wide use comes from the fact that aspartame has about 200 times the sweetness of sugar (sucrose). Moreover, it brings only 4 kcal/g, which represents a negligible caloric intake.

Aspartame is used in nearly 5,000 low-calorie products

It is systematically found in "light" drinks (Diet Coke), low-fat dairy products (yoghurts, cream desserts, milk desserts, ice creams) and in confectionery, pastries and jams.

Aspartame metabolized by our body gives rise to several toxic by-products: phenylalanine, methanol and diketopiperazine.

  • Phenylalanineis an amino acid found in the human brain. People with the genetic disease called phenylketonuria cannot eliminate phenylalanine. That is why, normally, all products containing aspartame must be labelled "contraindicated in case of phenylketonuria". A single intake of aspartame has been shown to increase phenylalanine levels in the brain. Regular consumption of aspartame inevitably leads to excessive brain levels of phenylalanine. The result is a drop in serotonin, "the brain hormone of good mood". This phenomenon gives rise to emotional disorders such as depression. In view of all these data, it is clear that aspartame modifies the brain chemistry leading to various disorders and crises more or less serious as memory loss, even a destruction of neurons, phenomenon observed in Alzheimer's disease, or modification of dopamine levels in direct relation with Parkinson's disease.
  • The methanol is about 10% of the weight of aspartame. In the human body, methanol breaks down into formic acid (the poison injected by ant bites), formaldehyde (carcinogenic) and carbon dioxide (eliminated by the lungs). The most well-known problems of methanol poisoning are visual problems. Other symptoms are also listed: headaches, ringing in the ears, gastrointestinal disturbances, weakness, dizziness, chills, memory lapses, numbness and shooting pains in the extremities, behavioral problems, tachycardia, ... In short, only about 90 symptoms listed and listed would have a link with aspartame The recommended daily methanol intake is 7.8 mg. For information, one liter of drink sweetened with aspartame contains about 56 mg of methanol and the consumption of 3 to 4 cans per day is also enough to largely exceed this tolerance threshold.
  • The formaldehyde is a known carcinogen. Note thatformaldehyde is classified in the same group of drugs as cyanide and arsenic, deadly poisons! And even though it takes longer to work, it still kills people slowly, and causes non-negligible neurological disorders. It damages the retina, interferes with DNA replication and causes prenatal malformations.
  • The diketopiperazine has been implicated in the development of brain tumors and uterine polyps.

Heavy consumers of "light" drinks suffer from a series of ailments whose origin they cannot explain. It is in fact the aspartame disease characterized by several of these symptoms: fibromyalgia-like pain, spasms, throbbing or numbness in the legs, cramps, dizziness, nausea, headaches, tinnitus, joint pain, depression, anxiety attacks, incoherent speech, blurred vision, or memory loss.

Even worse, some patients are diagnosed with a serious disease. In fact, this disease does not really exist, but it is the consequence of the abusive consumption of aspartame whose symptoms are similar to those of this type of disease. If diseases such as fibromyalgia - arthritis - multiple sclerosis - Parkinson's disease - lupus - epilepsy - Alzheimer's disease - chronic fatigue syndrome - attention deficit disorder in children - panic disorder - depression and other psychological disorders exist, consuming aspartame makes them much worse.

Victims are usually unaware of the exact origin of their health problem. They continue their consumption of the products responsible and sometimes worsening their condition, to the point where their life can be threatened.
It is however easy to note that as soon as the consumption of aspartame is stopped, the affected patients generally become asymptomatic. In many cases, patients who had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, for example, when they were actually suffering from methanol intoxication, most of their symptoms disappear. In other cases where there was already damage to sense organs, vision and hearing recovered and the tinnitus disappeared.

Aspartame was created for people who are diabetic, obese or even crave sugars, which makes them fat, while aspartame is absolutely not a dietary product.

This is a new scam since aspartame does not make you lose weight. This was confirmed by the American Cancer Society which, after following 80,000 women for six years, found that those who gained the most weight during this period were those who consumed artificial sweeteners.

So beware, for the enemies are among us! And if you read the labels of your food, you will notice with horror that indeed, aspartame is almost everywhere!

And despite all these alarming findings, it seems that no action is being taken and no change is taking place. Once again, the pharmaceutical and chemical industry lobbies appear to have serious support.
