Myopia: Dr. Schmitz' advice!

It is manifested by a difficulty in focusing images on the retina. It results from a "normal" aging of the lens. The cells of the lens are very sensitive to oxidation, fouling and aging of the body. This loses flexibility as the years go by. The risks are increased in case of bad food hygiene.

This damage to the eye can be slowed or delayed by a healthy diet and adequate nutritional supplements.

Myopia: nutritional contributions

  • Folic acid is probably the most important nutrient for preventing and reducing myopia.
  • Eat more foods rich in vitamins B6, C, E, folic acid and calcium. Fresh, raw, green leafy vegetables are the best source of folic acid, vitamin C and calcium.

Be careful with your cooking methods, as folic acid and vitamin C are easily destroyed by heat!
