I trade my birth control pill for acne, what should I do?

Today, many women have made the decision - and rightly so - to stop all chemical hormonal contraception. We say "bye bye" to the pill when it has been for many years the symbol of a certain freedom and liberation of women.

From now on, they are more and more denouncing the medical dangers linked to this contraception taken very often on the long term. Today, awareness is finally being raised. Women have now acquired a certain amount of experience with their contraception, they are more informed and educated on the subject and it is generally towards non-hormonal alternatives that they turn.

Stopping the contraceptive pill after several years of use is a real journey that can sometimes be difficult. Thus, it will be important to manage this cessation at all therapeutic levels, so that the change is as successful as possible. Indeed, the body must regain a hormonal balance and must, in addition, evacuate the toxic endocrine disruptors circulating in the blood. Of course, it is via the liver that these toxins will be evacuated. However, this filter organ can quickly become overloaded or clogged. From then on, this type of organic waste will be able to undergo a bypass and then be expelled by the skin. Moreover, we notice a lot of the so-calledacne when stopping the pill. Indeed, unsightly pimples often appear on the chin and lower jaw.

Although a global management is advised when stopping hormonal contraception, with a emunctorial drainage on the program; today we propose some "beauty" advice to take care of your skin. The evacuation of toxins can take varying amounts of time, usually a few months, so you might as well put all the odds on your side to make the best of it.

My advice for a healthy skin:

- I avoid putting unnatural and non-organic creams on my skin that may further pollute my endocrine system. I prefer a more natural hygiene with rather raw products. Although there are more and more cosmetic products on the market, consuming consciously is becoming a priority.

- In the same vein, I avoid putting too many products on my skin, at the risk of clogging the pores and preventing the evacuation of toxins. I let my skin breathe as much as possible.

- I do not hesitate to test the layeringA Japanese beauty method that allows you to take care of your skin gently. This Japanese beauty ritual consists in taking care of your skin in several steps.

- I use organic vegetable oils and of first cold pressure adapted to my style of skin: apricot oil, jojoba oil, argan oil or sweet almond oil, the choice is vast and each one will find its happiness and its pleasure there.

- Obviously, the hydrolats can be integrated into your new skincare routine. Therefore, take care to choose your natural ingredients, without additives or preservatives, as pure as possible. Hydrosols are used as make-up remover, lotion or as skin cleanser.

- Essential oils can be used pure in certain cases: The tea tree or the true lavender can, for example, be applied to a precise zone (a button) to disinfect. Nevertheless, avoid the use of pure essential oils on the whole face. Cosmetic aromatherapy should be used sparingly.

- Masks with green clay or Ayurvedic powders can be prepared to cleanse the skin. Just like scrubs, masks should not be repeated daily but rather in a weekly routine.

Making changes in your lifestyle requires a real investment in yourself. When the contraceptive pill is stopped, a pathway must be followed for a return to normalcy. The skin is part of this holistic healing process.
