Gluten, nervous and hormonal disturbances

While grain-based food products are generally considered healthy and recommended to
a great deal of publicity, there are still some caveats to be aware of.

Everyone seems to be aware of the harmfulness of excessive intakes of sugar or saturated fatty acids. We have all heard of sugar causing hypoglycemia, insulin resistance and, at the extreme, diabetes. The fatty acids or saturated fats are described as toxic mainly from the cardiac point of view.

On the other hand, the majority of the population is unaware of the toxicity of wheat and consequently of gluten which is found in foods as varied as breads and pastries, that seems obvious, but also in certain meat preparations for example.

Mike Geary is a certified nutrition specialist, so his nickname is telling: "the nutrition watchdog." He is the author of a best-selling book in which he denounces the extreme danger of gluten.

What all these harmful foods have in common is that they interact with the hormonal system and neurotransmitters, and therefore with the entire metabolism, since the latter is totally controlled by hormones.

A hormonal imbalance can therefore have consequences on the cardiac sphere as well as on the metabolism of sugars or even on brain function (Alzheimer's) or on cell reproduction (cancer).

Eating wheat causes cell oxidation and the creation of free radicals that cause or accelerate the aging process. Over time, this creates damage to your external appearance: dull, distended skin, wrinkles..., but more serious is the internal damage that we do not see. It may be elevated blood sugar levels because whole wheat contains amylopectin-A, which raises blood sugar levels much higher than most other carbohydrate sources. A simple slice of toast triggers the entire insulin metabolism process to a much higher degree than eating natural fruit or dried fruit.

The second reason you should avoid eating wheat and gluten is that this element is pro-inflammatory, meaning they promote inflammation in general and primarily in the gut. Even if you are not considered to have celiac disease or to be allergic or intolerant to gluten be aware that the inflammation it causes can lead to increased intestinal permeability, other types of digestive problems or trigger autoimmune processes.

Skeptics will tell you that man has always eaten wheat and that this has never been a problem. The counter argument is that during the last 50 years wheat has been extremely tampered with and no longer corresponds at all to the ancestral wheat that our great-grandparents ate and for which the human body has been genetically programmed for millennia.

The third and last argument that should make you avoid eating wheat is that this seed contains nutrients but also anti-nutrients that block the absorption of minerals useful to the body. You may have heard of phytates or phytic acid which prevents the absorption of zinc, iron, manganese and calcium. These 4 minerals alone are involved in countless metabolic steps and conversions in the human body.

Lectin is another component of wheat that is also responsible for intestinal irritations

This may not happen if you occasionally eat wheat products, but many people eat wheat at almost every meal.

You now understand how the simple fact of eating this or that food can amplify certain hormonal or nervous imbalances or, on the contrary, regulate these control systems and thus reduce the risks of heart attacks, diabetes, nervous degeneration and cellular malformations due to genetic disturbances at the heart of the DNA.

If you are afraid of lacking fiber, one of the great advertising arguments to push you to consume cereals, know that you will find all that your body needs in plants, both fruits and vegetables and dried fruits. All of these foods are packed with minerals, vitamins and fiber. They do not present any toxicity. On the contrary, they will help you maintain or restore your health.

Food that we think is healthy is actually toxic
