Echinacea, this plant with unsuspected virtues

We often find ourselves in a herbalist's shop or in an organic store in front of a whole bunch of herbal complexes that are put forward to boost our immune system as naturally as possible. These bottles with Latin names can sometimes seem frightening to anyone new to natural care. And it is clear that if we are not guided we are venturing into the most total unknown. So let's talk today about a very interesting plant to boost our natural defenses: Echinacea.

Echinacea

Echinacea is the perfect plant to boost your immune system as naturally as possible.

Everyone should have it in their medicine cabinet because it supports the body when it really needs it. Whether used in prevention or immediate action, it is a truly favorable aid.
Echinacea was the main plant of the Cheyenne, the North American Indians. They used every part of the plant and this, for various reasons such as:

  • injuries,
  • sore throat,
  • respiratory infections,
  • dental pain,
  • snake bites,
  • insect bites

It was also recognized as an antidote in case of poisoning. A miracle remedy in those ancient times. It was not until the 1930s that it became popular in Europe and the United States.

From the family of AsteraceaeThe American Indians used several types of Echinacea (E. Purpurea, E. Angustifolia and E. Pallida) but the one used in phytotherapy today is Echinacea Purpurea. Acting as a natural armor against infections, it has incredible natural immune capabilities by allowing white blood cells to more actively defend themselves against infections and bacteria. Used in mother tincture, infusion, decoction, extract, it offers us an incredible panel of possibilities of use.

  • Dry Root Decoction: Put 1 or 2 grams of dry root (E. Pallida or E. Angustifolia) in a cup of water, then slowly bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Drink 3 times a day.
  • In dry root capsule (E. Pallida or E. Angustifolia): follow the manufacturer's dosage.

If your mouth mucous membranes tingle and your mouth becomes slightly numb, don't worry! This is a sign that it is really echinacea and that it acts favorably. No stress, it is in no way an allergy.
By combining it with Royal Jelly and Propolis, you will get the perfect cocktail to fight microbes in winter period. Indeed, it is really specific to the upper respiratory system, to the whole ENT sphere. But all of these infections can occur at any time of the year, so be armed with echinacea. Moreover in internal or external use, Echinacea, associated with other plants, has other multiple virtues, different from those already mentioned, such as the reduction of gingivitis, anxiety, ear infections, vaginal yeast infections, etc.
Let us not forget that each plant has some counter indications. In the case of this one, it is not recommended to use it continuously for more than 3 weeks. Also not recommended for people suffering from autoimmune or degenerative diseases.
