Post-party detox

The liver has been under a lot of strain in recent weeks. You may now feel its fatigue: white, thick and/or pasty tongue, blurred complexion, slow digestion, disturbed transit, discolored and sometimes smelly stools, bloating, skin rashes, fatigue, exacerbated premenstrual syndrome ... All these signs show you that your liver deserves some attention. Now it's time for a post-party detox!

Here are the main points to eliminate toxins accumulated during the holidays:

  • hypotoxic diet with vegetarian tendencies
  • practice a fasting or a monodiet
  • get enough fluids
  • scrubbing with black soap or dry brushing
  • promote sweating
  • get some fresh air
  • to use an adapted phytotherapy

Boost/support liver activity by taking care of your diet

Now that the holidays are over, it's time to take care of your body with a healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle: the basis of natural health.

On your plate.

Choose a diet vegetarianraw or lightly cooked, organic and in season.

In this case, prepare soups (without cream or fat), fruit and/or vegetable juices with an extractor.

Stop the sugars: candies, chocolates, alcohol, sodas, pastries

Fasting and/or mono-dieting.

Fasting is excellent for resting and regenerating hepatic cells. If this practice puts you off, you can opt for intermittent fasting, liquid fasting or monodiete, which is much less psychologically demanding...

Optimal hydration

Drink water, infusions " detox "Lemon and rosemary based to properly hydrate you and gently boost hepatic activity.

Promote elimination through the skin

The cutaneous route represents an exit door for excess toxins not evacuated by your digestive system. Thus, to stimulate their elimination, think of the exfoliation with the glove of horsehair or the glove kessa with black soap or dry brushing every day.

The friction not only removesdead skin, but also stimulates blood, lymphatic and energy circulation.

In addition, a sauna or hammam session will complete your detox process by promoting sweating.

Detoxing also involves what you apply to your skin. Cosmetics are sources of pollution and not only for the planet. Their sometimes dubious composition are real time bombs. Indeed, rightly accused of being endocrine disruptors and carcinogens, some beauty products should be banned from your bathroom. To be sure to take care of your health, adopt the ethics of slow cosmetics advocating raw, natural products and for many made in France. Japanese layering is also an interesting practice to take care of your skin naturally and without breaking the bank!

Exercise

One of the fundamental pillars of health is physical exercise. Putting the body in motion allows to solicit all the organic systems: osteo-articular, cardiovascular, pulmonary, digestive, cutaneous, nervous, endocrine...

Taking up sports (again) is often part of the resolutions at the beginning of the year, but in the end, few stick to it in the long term.

You have to understand that you have to find the time, but above all you have to find "the" sport that suits you and not stop at a fashion effect.

If you are not a fan, start with small adjustments: walk to get the bread, walk at a steady pace, avoid elevators and escalators, get off the bus/subway/tram earlier, etc.

The sport is your ally in regaining your health. It is even extremely interesting to note that some hospital services prescribe sports sessions to some of their patients!

As part of a detox, practicing physical activity boosts intra- and extra-cellular exchanges and stimulates the emunctories. This allows toxins to be evacuated through the lymphatic and bloodstream channels before they are expelled via sweating and exhalation in the first instance, then through the intestines and kidneys.

Taking the air

Walking around in fresh air ideally in nature improves your oxygenation. This has the effect of nourishing your cells, airing your mind and not focusing on your detox and the frustrations it can cause.

A walk in the forest, by the ocean, in the mountains or in the countryside recharges you with negative ions, the effects of which are beneficial for calming and soothing oxidative stress.

In addition to spending a pleasant moment alone or in company, connected to the surrounding nature, you recharge your batteries to face the demands of everyday life in complete serenity.

Herbal medicine to your rescue

The hepato-biliary plants are the milk thistle, the roman, the boldo, the dandelion root...

Diuretic plants: cherry stems, dandelion.

The sapwood of lime acts on the kidneys and the couple liver/intestine. This makes it an interesting preparation in the case of global detox.

To go further

A detox is usually considered only on the physical level. However, from a holistic point of view, for a detox to be complete, it would be interesting to look at other aspects of your life. So, to go further, why not do :

  • a digital detox which consists in limiting your access to screens
  • sort out your personal belongings
  • take stock of your relationships
  • develop new habits more in line with your aspirations

Important point

To do a detox, it's important to get the real needs right from the start. Sometimes a simple dietary adjustment will be sufficient, sometimes a hierarchical cure will be recommended. In all cases, it is strongly recommended that you be accompanied by a naturopath so that he or she can assess your vital state and personalize your detox. Indeed, this practice requires a lot of energy from your body...
