Aquabike: 3 good reasons to get into the water

It was only a few months ago that we would have never thought we would ever ride a bike in a pool! And yet this sport is emerging with success... so much so that its results are worth the pedal stroke. Here's to our (yellow) shirts!

The list of virtues of aquabike is long: calorie burnerIt is accessible to everyone and has nothing to do with the torture machines that are usually found in gyms. Here, all you have to do is pedal in the water to take advantage of its health benefits. Could this be the new miracle sport invented to stop dreading the bikini test?

  • Unlike the classic bicycle, it offers the advantage of minimizing injuries and presents no risk of impact.
  • Thanks to the massaging action and draining water, aquabike refines the figure and firms the skin.
  • In a few series of accelerations, it becomes very "cardio" by soliciting the heart.

Our advice:The exercise is relatively intense without looking like it. Indeed, water offers resistance and cools our body temperature. So remember to pace yourself. As a benchmark, you should be able to maintain a conversation without running out of steam. A session lasts ideally 30 minutes. One with a delicious feeling of light legs. While one has just burned between 300 and 500 calories (against 120 kcal for aquagym and 240 kcal after a zumba class 325 kcal!).

For all those who dream of a mermaid body, of a new breath, of a generalized wellnessThe queen with webbed wheels is a magic formula. Aquabike is generally practiced in a group, with a background of rhythmic musicby following the advice of a coach. But more and more centers offer to do it solo in a cabin, at your own pace, in water heated between 25 and 28 degrees. This is called a waterbike. Last but not least, it can be practiced in summer and winter!
