Arnica de Provence, also known as mountain inula (Inula montana), is a plant that grows naturally on the limestone, sun-drenched soils of southern France, particularly in Provence. Traditionally used in herbal medicine, it is often considered the local equivalent of mountain arnica, as it has similar properties for treating minor trauma.
The mother tincture is obtained by macerating the fresh plant in alcohol, a process that effectively extracts and preserves the plant's active ingredients. This concentrated form is commonly used in herbal medicine for targeted local application.
Arnica de Provence alcohol tincture is particularly recognized for its action on everyday injuries. It is traditionally used to treat shocks, bruises, hematomas, or muscle pain occurring after physical exertion, a blow, or a fall. Directions for use
Arnica de Provence alcohol tincture is for external use only. It must be diluted to 1/10 before application to the skin. Once diluted, it can be applied by gently rubbing or as a compress to the affected area.
Due to its concentration, internal use is reserved for medical prescription only.
