A natural antidepressant: Griffonia simplicifolia

Depression is a common condition, especially during the fall and winter months when we lack light. Antidepressant medications have many side effects and take about 6 weeks to work. We know the major role played by serotonin, which is the brain neurotransmitter of good mood and joy of life.

This serotonin is manufactured in our brain from the amino acid tryptophan which will be transformed by an enzymatic reaction into 5-OH-Tryptophan (5-HTP) which itself will be transformed into serotonin. Unfortunately, the transformation of tryptophan into 5-HTP is very poor in depressed patients for many reasons (mineral deficiency, excess of cortisol).

The Complex Phytoptim is a natural antidepressant made from the seeds of Griffonia simplicifolia, a tropical plant that grows in Africa. These seeds contain 5-HTP bound to a lipid that facilitates the passage of the blood-brain barrier and is therefore directly available for the synthesis of serotonin. The product also contains Himalayan Spikenard, a plant used in Ayurvedic medicine that provides a feeling of calm, relaxation with a powerful relaxing effect, which is particularly useful in cases of lack of confidence, doubt or depression. The results on depression are spectacular, very fast and there are no side effects.
