Why and how to monitor your blood pressure?

Too high, it exposes to cardiovascular events. Too low, beware of discomfort! Blood pressure is a good indicator of your health. Some tips on how not to be under the weather with your blood pressure.

A blood pressure of 120 over 80 (120/80) mmHg or lower is optimal or healthy. Above 140/90 mmHg, the pressure is considered high. Although very low blood pressure is not healthy, it is better for your heart than too high blood pressure. However, blood pressure varies during the day. This is why it may be necessary to average the results.

The older you get, the greater the risk of hypertension! It would affect almost half of the people aged 65 and over. Genetics, the environment, and a few basic lifestyle rules will cause this pressure to increase more rapidly in some individuals than others... This is why it is important to be able to detect the warning signs (watch out for headaches, shortness of breath during exercise, ringing in the ear, and flying flies) and to adopt preventive measures.

Blood pressure refers to the pressure with which blood flows from your heart to the rest of your body. It is measured in mmHg and has two numbers.

1. The systolic measurement (when the heart pumps),

Avoid Salt

Reducing salt intake has a positive impact on blood pressure! How do you do it? By avoiding salty snacks (peanuts, crackers, chips,...), by reducing the amount of salt added to your dishes, by preferring a salt low in sodium, or by exploiting the power of potassium (which helps your body get rid of excess salt).

Limiting excitants

It is advisable to limit caffeine, theine, tobacco and alcohol.
