Aspartame, a poison on sale in our stores?

Aspartame has been the talk of the town for some time now. So what's the real story?

Aspartame (aspartyl-phenylalanine methyl ester) is a synthetic sweetener made from two amino acids (phenylalanine and aspartic acid) and methanol.

It was discovered in 1965 by a chemist from the Searle pharmaceutical company. Its first marketing authorization was granted in the United States by the FDA in 1974. Its commercial exploitation was launched by Donald Rumsfeld, who drew his fortune and influence from it. Searle was bought out in 1985 by Monsanto, the GMO specialist.

This subsidiary is currently called NutraSweet/Kelco (it's customary to change names to confuse the issue). As luck would have it, Monsanto has now become Pharmacia Corp after a merger, and NutraSweet has been sold to J.W. Childs Equity Partners.

In 1988, aspartame was authorized in France as a table-top sweetener and in many foods. It is coded as E951 in the classification of additives. It is currently the most widely used sweetener in France (Canderel®). In the USA, aspartame is still one of the 100 different products used as a sweetener, and this "poison" is now distributed and available in over 90 countries worldwide.
Its widespread use stems from the fact that aspartame has around 200 times the sweetening power of sugar (sucrose). What's more, it provides just 4 kcal/g, which represents a negligible caloric intake.

Aspartame is used in nearly 5,000 low-calorie products

It is systematically found in diet drinks (Diet Coke), low-fat dairy products (yoghurts, cream desserts, dairy desserts, ice creams) and in confectionery, pastries and jams.

Aspartame is metabolized by the body to produce several toxic by-products: phenylalanine, methanol and diketopiperazine.

  • Phenylalanine is an amino acid found in the human brain. People suffering from the genetic disease phenylketonuria cannot eliminate phenylalanine. For this reason, all aspartame-based products should normally be labelled "contraindicated in cases of phenylketonuria". A single intake of aspartame has been shown to increase phenylalanine levels in the brain. Regular consumption of aspartame inevitably leads to excessive levels of phenylalanine in the brain. The result is a drop in serotonin, the brain's "mood-enhancing hormone". This leads to emotional disorders such as depression. In the light of all this data, it is clear that aspartame modifies brain chemistry, leading to various disorders and crises of varying degrees of severity, such as memory loss, or even the destruction of neurons, a phenomenon observed in Alzheimer's disease, or changes in dopamine levels directly linked to Parkinson's disease.
  • Methanol corresponds to around 10% of the weight of aspartame. In the human body, methanol breaks down into formic acid (the poison injected by ant bites), formaldehyde (carcinogenic) and carbon dioxide (eliminated by the lungs). The best-known symptoms of methanol poisoning are visual problems. Other symptoms include headaches, ringing in the ears, gastrointestinal upset, weakness, dizziness, chills, memory lapses, numbness and shooting pains in the extremities, behavioral problems, tachycardia... In short, there are some 90 symptoms listed as being linked to aspartame. The recommended daily intake of methanol is 7.8 mg. For your information, one liter of aspartame-sweetened beverage contains around 56 mg of methanol, and consumption of 3 to 4 cans a day is enough to well exceed this tolerance threshold.
  • Formaldehyde is a known carcinogen. It should be noted that formaldehyde is classified in the same group of drugs as cyanide and arsenic, both deadly poisons! And even ifit takes longer to act, it still kills people slowly, and causes significant neurological disorders. It damages the retina, interferes with DNA reproduction and causes prenatal malformations.
  • Diketopiperazine has been implicated in the development of brain tumors and uterine polyps.

Heavy consumers of "diet" beverages suffer from a series of ailments whose origin they cannot explain. In fact, it's aspartame disease, characterized by many of the same symptoms: fibromyalgia-like pain, spasms, throbbing or numbness in the legs, cramps, dizziness, nausea, headaches, tinnitus, joint pain, depression, anxiety attacks, incoherent speech, blurred vision, or memory loss.

Worse still, some sufferers are diagnosed with a serious illness. In fact, this disease does not really exist, but is the consequence of abusive consumption of aspartame, the symptoms of which are similar to those of this type of illness. If illnesses such as fibromyalgia - arthritis - multiple sclerosis - Parkinson's disease - lupus - epilepsy - Alzheimer's disease - chronic fatigue syndrome - attention deficit disorders in children - panic disorders - depression and other psychological disorders exist, consuming aspartame clearly aggravates them.

Victims are generally unaware of the exact origin of their health problem. They therefore continue to consume the products responsible, sometimes aggravating their condition to such an extent that their lives may be threatened.
It's easy to see, however, that as soon as as aspartame consumption is stopped, affected patients generally become asymptomatic. In many cases, patients who had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when in fact they were suffering from methanol intoxication, most symptoms disappear. In other cases, where the sensory organs had already been affected, vision and hearing recovered, and the tinnitus disappeared.

L’aspartame a été créé pour les personnes diabétiques, obèses ou encore qui ont un besoin maladif de sucres, ce qui les fait grossir, alors que l’aspartame n’est absolument pas un produit diététique.

This is yet another scam, since aspartame does absolutely nothing to help you lose weight. This has been confirmed by the American Cancer Society, which, after following 80,000 women over six years, found that those who gained the most weight during this period were those who consumed artificial sweeteners.

So beware, because the enemies are among us! And if you read your food labels, you'll be shocked to discover that aspartame is almost everywhere!

And despite all these alarming findings, it seems that no action is being taken and no change is taking place. Once again, the pharmaceutical and chemical industry lobbies seem to have serious support .
