Gift ideas for an ethical and conscious Christmas

Tic Tac - Tic Tac. ChristmasIt's only a few days away and maybe you haven't found the perfect gift yet? Indeed, Christmas presents can sometimes be a source of questioning: "What am I going to give her?" or "What will she like?". We want, in addition to our warm presence, to please our loved one, our children, our parents or our friends.

This year, I suggest that you do not over-commercialize this holiday and instead focus your choices on ethical gifts that will truly symbolize a memory, a concept or an emotion.

For a healthy kitchen

Kitchen items often have a palpable toxicity for the body. In fact, Teflon or plastic items too often fill our shelves. How about a gift that also maintains health?

  • Beeswax wraps to limit disposable packaging. Moreover, you can also make them yourself at low cost. This is a great activity to do with your family.
Think loofah sponges, bulk bags, stainless steel straws, wooden items, etc....

  • Glass containers to replace the plastic boxes that usually fall out of our cabinets and pollute the environment. Why not take the opportunity to fill them with homemade cookies for the pleasure of your guests' taste buds?
Artisanal honey or local products from your city.

  • Natural material bowls to replace everyday bowls. Generally, these are painted and colored with paints that are harmful to the body in the long run.
With these conscious choices, you also limit planetary pollution.

For the bathroom

Again, let's think about the planet for this late 2018! By offering your guests zero-waste items, you also allow them to become more aware of the environment:

  • Make-up remover pads made of ecological fabric
  • Ecological soap, in bar, created by local artisans
  • Wooden oriculis to replace cotton buds, very polluting for the Earth
  • Small bottles of vegetable oils adapted to the face (organic and first cold pressure) to replace chemical cosmetics.

Awaken the reading

Whether you're young or old, books can be given as the perfect gift to a loved one. Indeed, consider, for example, offering your favorite book. When you open the gift package, you can explain your choice and your passion for this novel. A real human sharing will certainly follow. By offering literary works, we can also support and promote authors of novels, personal development, natural health, etc. ....
Some ideas here and there:

Finally, think about the local designers, artists and craftsmen. They have a lot to offer and are totally worth your attention. At the end of the year, you will find them mainly on Christmas markets.
Nevertheless, do not forget that Christmas is above all the symbol of union, warm presence and family benevolence. Gifts are still options that make people happy, but they are in no way proof of your attachment to the other person. Stay aware that everything happens within and not through the material aspect.
Happy Holidays to all!
