Essential oil of chamomile to calm the emotions

Essential oils, thanks to their chemical composition, can help and heal us in different areas of health. It is their emotional impact that makes these little vials fascinating. In addition to physical pain, they also heal the hurts of the soul by their powerful energetic character.
Unfortunately, this aspect of aromatherapy is not sufficiently emphasized in the modern world. Today, this branch of phytotherapy is most often used to treat small everyday ailments such as insect bites, headaches or digestive problems, but few people try the experience of emotional aromatherapy. Is it because of lack of information or fear of doing it wrong?

While psychotropic drugs have very dangerous contraindications in the long term, let's talk about an interesting oil to use when your mood is not good, when you feel depressed or when you feel depression coming on.

Note that it is very important - for a treatment with essential oils to work - to correctly target your current state: A depression is not comparable to a state of stress or a burn out. Establishing an accurate diagnosis, alone or with the help of specialized therapists, seems to be the first and most important step towards recovery. However, we are often very poorly placed to realize the emotional state we are in. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness.

Zoom on Roman chamomile, officinal - Anthemis Nobilis

From the Asteraceae botanical family, Roman chamomile is used in aromatherapy for its fragrant flowers that can bewitch anyone. Easily cultivated in our regions, its essential oil is however very expensive due to a low yield. (100Kg of flowers produce an average of 500 ml of essential oil) Let us not stop at its expensive purchase price because a single drop is enough to obtain remarkable results. We should all have this aromatherapy treasure in our natural pharmacy.

Its properties on the nervous system are numerous:

  • It relaxes
  • It relaxes
  • It unties the knots
  • It calms the spasms
  • It fights against irritability
  • It calms the central nervous system
  • It acts as a mild sedative

Its calming action on the emotions acts perfectly in case of mood disorders which can go up to depression. The essential oil of Roman chamomile is the oil par excellence for hyper-sensitive, hyper-emotional people who are very often on edge or emotionally fragile. By using it wisely, it will be easy to allow our energy centers to recharge.

Due to its high cost, it is not recommended to use it via an essential oil diffuser as this powerful serum could be wasted. It is therefore preferable to use it as an energy massage on the appropriate areas. The application being localized, we will use only one to two drops that we will dilute in a few drops of adapted vegetable oil (jojoba, hazelnut, almond, etc.)

The olfaction method will also be very appreciated but this face to face work with chamomile is very powerful emotionally and energetically. This is due to the particular biochemical properties of this plant. It is by sniffing the bottle that we allow our olfactory bulb to become impregnated with the molecules of this essential oil. Let us note however that it is not necessary to carry out multiple deep inhalations which would be moreover unsuitable; Indeed, the vibratory rate of the Roman chamomile being so powerful, it is really necessary to use it with tact and care. One or two breaths are enough to calm the nervous system.

Aromatherapy is a powerful and saving tool when suffering from nervous system disorders but at the same time, therapeutic follow-up seems very important because it will allow to establish the degree of damage and the deep causes to be put forward. Whether you are followed by a therapist, a psychologist, an energeticist or a qualified aromatherapist, always be aware that the answer lies within you and that plants can help you get better but they will not cure you. The key is in you!
