Understanding your thyroid

Thyroid disorders are health imbalances that are becoming more and more prevalent in today's society. And unfortunately, not in a positive sense. Indeed, while a certain category of people suffers from hyperthyroidism, the other would be impacted by hypothyroidism, a goiter or benign or malignant nodules.

But what is this gland that makes humans suffer so much?

Our thyroid is a gland, weighing about 20 grams, located on the front of the neck. In the shape of a butterfly, its functioning will be orchestrated by a contribution of iodine which it will receive and which will then determine its volume and its functioning. This is why we will quickly understand the importance of this essential trace element.

In order to have a perfect health balance, thyroid hormones must be secreted in a balanced way - not too much and not too little. Unfortunately, this is not the case when a thyroid disorder occurs. TSH - Thyroid Stimulating Hormone - is a hormone secreted by the pituitary gland, located at the base of the skull, which will act on thyroid hormones.

But where does this imbalance come from?

The society in which we live prevents us from feeling healthy and fulfilling ourselves towards an overall life balance. We are imprisoned by environmental and food pollution, by endocrine disruptors that cause increasingly serious illnesses in humans, etc.

In addition, let's add to this the energetic imbalances and the impact of our emotions on our physical body. We are enormously conditioned by our emotions, which are more and more often negative, leading individuals to heavy depression, but not only. There are too many loopholes in our life system because the further we get from nature, the more our body seeks a method of adaptation. So let's see how our emotional life could impact our thyroid health.

Thyroid and psycho-emotional.

The thyroid gland connects our body to the throat chakra. Chakra that is connected to the energy of will, therefore to our ability to make decisions to manifest our needs. It is our ability to create our life according to our true deepest expectations.

If it is hyperthyroidism- the YANG form of thyroid dysregulation -, the thyroid gland is overactive. The profound message of the body is to moderate its activity, to learn to take time and to settle down to listen to what the body has to say. What do you really want from life? Very often, our body is in search of self-love. Do you have to be in action to feel loved? This YANG form of imbalance induces the person in a vicious circle of inner fire that is consumed. Indeed, people who suffer from hyperthyroidism will constantly be in the permanent and exhausting struggle of a goal that does not exist. This discouraging quest will have the impact of leading the individual to another source of problem: hypothyroidism.

Understanding your thyroid.

Hypothyroidism, the YIN form of thyroid dysfunction, is characterized by poor energy distribution. This could explain why people who suffer from it often have cold extremities. If the thyroid gland is not active enough, there is a good chance that something negative is going on inside you. E, indeed, it is time to stop believing that you are not allowed to do things that nourish you, that you enjoy and that build you up. Today, it is the body that launches a symbolic call expressing the action of undertaking without fear. It's time to dare to take charge of your life and put things in place that will meet your needs.

Understanding is the first step to healing.

Will understanding where the health problem comes from lead to a cure? Obviously not, but the fact of working on yourself and putting the finger on the cause of the problem allows you to become aware that there may be certain things to change in your life or your behavior. These changes, then, will have a positive impact on the evolution of your malaise and will accompany you on the road to recovery. In order to help you on this emotional and psycho-energetic path of healing, you can return to nature by including plants in your life process through aromatherapy, gemmotherapy, but also personal accompaniment techniques such as shiatsu, sophrology or kinesiology. Of course, all these methods do not prevent you from using traditional medicine, because let's not forget that healing is a holistic whole.
