How to live well with menopause

Each woman will experience, throughout her life, fundamental and important periods: Adolescence, early adulthood, midlife and finally menopause. Each step will be marked by joys, sorrows, advantages but also disadvantages. These will punctuate a woman's life: the changing of the body and the onset of menstruation in adolescence, between the ages of 25 and 35, the increasing responsibilities of adulthood, and often, midlife is seen as the peak of life. Despite these inconveniences, every woman has the right to be fulfilled, whatever her age.

A very important period of life that should not be neglected is the menopause

Menopause is a natural phenomenon that is characterized by the cessation of menstruation for at least one full year. During this cycle of life, some women will suffer more than others from the inconveniences caused:

  • Sleep disorders,
  • hot flashes,
  • dryness of the vaginal mucosa,
  • osteoporosis,
  • skin problems,
  • increase in breast volume and painful tension,
  • weight gain,
  • mood disorders,
  • night sweats,
  • fatigue,
  • headaches,
  • etc.

The symptoms can be numerous but also varied from one person to another; some will experience a real depression while others will barely notice that they are changing course and moving towards a new life destination.

Strategies for relieving the discomforts of menopause

  • Adapt a healthy, varied and balanced diet. Since menopause follows a hormonal imbalance, it is essential to harmonize and establish a certain balance and not to bring harmful hormones to the body.
    • Switch to a hypo-toxic diet: Eat 5 fruits and vegetables a day and favor organic, local and seasonal food to avoid pesticides.
  • Take care of your liver, which plays a vital role in managing female hormones. If it is flooded with toxics and toxins, it will not be able to perform its main action. Therefore, practice detoxification cures every year to relieve it.
  • Drink 1.5 liters of water per day. Drink filtered water that will remove all residues of hormones and drugs found in our drinking water.
  • Limit dairy products because they disrupt the hormonal system. In fact, the sources of calcium necessary for your bones are more assimilable if they come from plants.
  • Limit consumption of salts that cause water retention.
  • Practice a sport activity adapted to your physical condition: swimming, soft gymnastics, digestive or fast walking, cycling, aquagym are all ideas that can be implemented little by little. Indeed, these light activities are favorable to blood circulation and thus avoid problems of venous returns. If you live near a wood, a forest or a "green" environment, take the opportunity to breathe fresh air, to fill your lungs with oxygen by practicing deep breaths.
  • In order to avoid or reduce intestinal disturbances, take probiotic treatments to regulate your flora.
  • Take advantage of the plant life to relieve your ailments with phytotherapy:
    • There are many plants to help you support your body: horse chestnut, St. John's wort, holly, garlic, red vine.
    • Essential oils: Peppermint, White Sandalwood, Niaouli, Lemon Verbena, Cypress, Italian Helichrysum, etc.
    • Supplement yourself with vitamins and trace elements.

Menopause is certainly a difficult and frightening stage, but by taking care of yourself and helping yourself with the plant world, you will be able to avoid too many inconveniences and live the situation more harmoniously.
