Derivative baths: what are they?

The drift bath is an ancestral method of internal cleansing of the body. A thousand year old practice in China, it has been taken up and developed in recent years by France Guillain in order to adapt it to our lifestyles. Discover in the following lines its numerous benefits and how to practice it.

Derivative baths to relieve many ailments

This internal detox stimulates your body's self-healing powers. Toxins are evacuated, blood and lymphatic circulation is reactivated and all organic functions are purified. Here is a non-exhaustive list of the many benefits of derivative baths:

  • improvement of the quality of sleep
  • reduction of the inflammatory state
  • stimulation of the immune system
  • better skin texture
  • increase in vitality
  • toning of the perineum
  • slimming of the silhouette
  • relief of osteoarticular pain
  • transit regulation

The principle of the drift bath

The practice is simple: bring freshness to the groin crease and perineum while the rest of the body is warm.

For this, there are two methods:

  1. Gently rub the groin folds and perineum with a glove and cold water for 20 minutes.
  2. Wear a refrigerated gel pack in your underwear for 3 hours, making sure to cool it down as soon as it warms up.

It is important to keep the rest of the body warm and not to shiver in which case the drift bath would have no effect. The sensation of cold should only be in the perineum.

To understand thedrift bath, let's compare it to the reverse effects of a hot air balloon: the coolness from below will suck the heat from above. This effect will set in motion the body fluids in order to deeply cleanse the body. The toxins will be "drawn" towards the exit thanks to the motility of the fascias and the intestines.

In addition, this technique mobilizes the thick fat of poor quality resulting from an inadequate lifestyle. It will be eliminated via the stool.

France Guillain's thoughts on bathing

On its official website bainsderivatifs.fr, we can read:

"At the origin of humanity, we walked a lot, naked, in hot countries. In such a case, the body's sweat slides to the groin folds and perineum, and its evaporation provides freshness.

Walking ensures friction in the groin folds. The combination of coolness and friction promotes motility (mini contractions) of the gut and fascia, allowing our fats to circulate, perform their various functions, and be flushed out at the rate they are formed through digestion.

...] It is absolutely abnormal for mammals to have the perineum warm all day. Now we are mammals, and we have this part of the body mainly warm especially since 60 years. "

Derivative baths: precautions and side effects

The sudden change in temperature can create discomfort and nausea, especially if your body is saturated.

Be sure to maintain a latency period of 1 hour to 1.5 hours after the meal and 30 minutes before.

Also depending on your initial state, you may feel tired in the early stages of your cure. Indeed, it requires more effort and resources to your body to draw on its reserves to evacuate toxins.

One-time practice or a cure?

Depending on your needs, both are possible. However, it is important to keep in mind that this method is neither medical nor miraculous. It is part of a global approach to natural health and must be supported by an adapted lifestyle: hypotoxic diet (chew well!), physical exercise, positive thinking etc...

In the case of a cure (in spring and autumn) and according to the advice of your naturopath, reserve windows of several days without derivative baths to allow the body to resume its functions normally.

Contra-indications of the derivative baths

People with pacemakers, who have just had surgery and/or are debilitated, and pregnant women in their 1st trimester should not use derivative baths

To conclude with the drift baths

As mentioned above, this method is not miraculous and may seem far-fetched. It is not scientifically proven, it is based solely on objective findings and feedback from users. The best thing to do is to experience it yourself and see if derivative bathing is for you or not!
