Huiles essentielles en été : les précautions d’usage

Before presenting 5 essential oils to spend a summer naturally, I want to remind you some precautions of use. 

  • The essential oils are photosensitizing which means avoiding any sun exposure to the parts of the body you applied them to.

  • The essential oils presented here are contraindicated in case of pregnancy, breast feeding, allergy, asthma and in children under 7 years. 

  • Before any application to the skin, be sure to test in the elbow crease 48 hours beforehand to detect a possible allergic reaction.  

  • Essential oils must be chemotyped and if possible, oforganic quality

  • Essential oils are not "alternative medicine". They are powerful and if misused, can be extremely dangerous.

  • The essential oils and the advice presented below do not replace a consultation with your doctor or even your current or future treatments. 


L’huile essentielle de Géranium Pelargonium Graveolens

Grâce à sa teneur en géraniol qui est une molécule ayant comme particularité d’être un puissant répulsif, l’huile essentielle de géranium est toute indiquée contre les moustiques.   

Directions for use : diffuse for about ten minutes in the bedroom before going to sleep or put a few drops on sheets, pillowcases and pyjamas.

However the action is only temporary, to be renewed if necessary!


2. L’huile essentielle de Carotte Daucus Carota

Riche en béta-carotène, l’huile essentielle de carotte sauvage Rich in beta-carotene, wild carrot essential oil is a natural self-tanner. Before the vacations, it prepares the skin for sun exposure. At the end of the summer, it prolongs the tan. In addition, it is just as useful to protect and purify the skin in case of dermatological problems (acne, couperose, sunburn ...) and premature aging (wrinkles and fine lines). 

Directions for use : 1 to 2 drops in your day cream or body milk. Caution, this essential oil is photosensitizing!


3. L’huile essentielle de Lavande aspic Lavandula Latifolia

L’huile essentielle de lavande Lavender essential oil is a versatile remedy. Not only does its recognizable scent repel mosquitoes, but it also relieves itching and heals scrapes and blisters. 

This essential oil can be used in children from 7 years old.

Directions for use : put 1 drop on a handkerchief or a piece of cloth and apply on the pimple, the itchy area or the blister.
 


4. L’huile essentielle de Cannelle de Chine Cinnamomum Cassia

Pour pallier aux désordres digestifs d’origine bactérienne ou virale comme la turista appelée également la diarrhée du voyageur, l’huile essentielle de cannelle de Chine est un antibactérien intéressant à utiliser dans ces problématiques-là. Elle éradique les micro-organismes pathogènes tout en prenant soin de votre flore intestinale. 

Directions for use (in prevention): 1 drop at breakfast and at dinner the first 3 days.
 


5. L’huile essentielle de Menthe Poivrée Mentha Piperita

L’huile essentielle de menthe poivrée est vasoconstrictrice et donc réfrigérante. Elle peut vous soulager dans bien des cas où la chaleur vous incommode.

Many people suffer from travel sickness: kinetosis. Dizziness, sweating, nausea and even vomiting are the signs of a state of malaise due to a discordance between visual information and the vestibular system. In order to alleviate these inconveniences, peppermint essential oil can save the day!

Simply apply 1 drop to each temple, inhale calmly from the bottle and take 1 drop orally on a neutral tablet or a small piece of bread.
 

In addition,peppermint essential oil is well useful for soothing heavy legs. 2 or 3 drops diluted in a cream or even in vegetable oil to penetrate by making light effleurages starting from the feet towards the pelvis in the direction of the lymphatic circulation and venous return. The lymphatic and blood circulation being stimulated, the intra and extra cellular exchanges are thus activated. Freshness effect guaranteed!
