Techniques for quitting smoking

The biggest reflex of a majority of people when something goes wrong or stress disrupts life is to reach for a cigarette in their pocket and light it. Have you ever noticed the number of smokers in front of a hospital, who are usually waiting for the results of an important test? Or, in court before the penalty is imposed.

 

Cigarettes and their poison, nicotine, seem to be the salvation for stress. But what is it really?

The first nicotine breath is a real help but believe me, it is a lure. In fact, lighting a cigarette during a negative, stressful or depressive period accentuates the effect of discomfort instead of calming it.

We will often hear smokers insist that quitting is impossible or that the vice has been ingrained in them for so long that there is no point in attempting to quit. What a mistake!

Anyone can quit smoking if they really want to. Of course, it's not easy and when you have to break a habit that has become more of a reflex than a real need, the task can sometimes seem quite difficult.

There are many solutions: nicotine patch or chewing gum substitute, nicotine then gradually decreases from the body. These nicotine substitutes available today without prescription deliver a continuous dose of nicotine to gradually reduce your consumption. Some people add antidepressants to the mix to get a winning cocktail. But will all this drug chemistry reduce your stress or depression?

Whatever the method used, wanting to quit smoking is already a big step in your life journey. So already, Bravo !

 

Why not try the more natural techniques to quit smoking?

But first, let's look at the positive side, as seen by the WHO:

  • Within 20 minutes of quitting smoking, your heart rate and blood pressure drop.
  • Within 12 hours, your carbon monoxide blood level will return to normal.
  • After 2-12 weeks, your circulation improves and your lung function increases.
  • In 1-9 months, cough and shortness of breath decrease.
  • Within a year your risk of coronary heart disease is cut almost in half.
  • Within 5 years your risk of stroke returns to the same level as a non-smoker 5 to 15 years after quitting.
  • Within 10 years your risk of lung cancer drops to about half that of a smoker and your risk of cancer of the mouth, throat, esophagus, bladder, cervix and pancreas drops.
  • Within 15 years the risk of coronary heart disease returns to the same level as for a non-smoker.

Doesn't this make you want to stop for good to take care of your future? Because the solution, the only one, is in you! Your self-confidence is the key to the problem.

As a first step, before any withdrawal, it is strongly advised to take a course of liposomal vitamin C. Indeed, vitamin C fights against the production of free radicals and is one of the most effective antioxidants. It is then essential to your balance. Add to that a cure of omega 3 and you will be ready to quit with peace and serenity.
