Rheumatology: have you considered organic silicon?

Whether you suffer from osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, tendonitis or joint pain, the common thread running through all of these osteoarticular conditions is silicon. Silicon is an essential trace element for the good health of your bones and joints. The diet covers part of the needs but, over time, it has lost quality especially as the body draws on its reserves as it ages. It is therefore sometimes necessary to complement each other. Focus on organic silicon in rheumatology.

Le silicium, complément essentiel pour les problèmes de rhumatologie

Ostéoporose et silicium

Osteoporosis is the result of demineralization and poor nutrient uptake. The bones lose density, become brittle, crack, fracture...

Aluminum has been shown to participate in this degeneration altering the formation of new bone cells.

Silicon happens to be an "antidote" to aluminum. It promotes its elimination through the renal pathways by binding to it. As a result, not only is intestinal absorption of aluminum greatly limited by silicon, but silicon also participates in bone reconstruction. Like vitamin D, it is necessary in the process of fixing calcium to bone. In sum, doing a calcium regimen without vitamin D or silicon does not densify the bone after a certain age.

Arthrose et silicium

Silicon is often given as a first-line supplement in osteoarthritis and for good reason, cartilage is composed (among other things) of silicon.

Oarthritis is a chronic joint disorder . The cartilage is destroyed and no longer rebuilds. No longer having this "mattress", the bones rub against the movement creating discomfort, inconvenience and pain.

Silicon helps cartilage rebuild because, as mentioned above, it is one of the elements of its structure. Supplementing with silicon then amounts to giving back material for building.

Parallel to this, silicon participates in the formation of proteoglycans. These represent the other constituents of cartilage.

Ligaments, tendons et silicium

Tendinitis is inflammation of the tendons. These as well as the ligaments consist of collagen, the formation of which depends in part on the concentration of silicon. Indeed, silicon helps in the synthesis of elastin which gives the tendon its characteristic flexibility.

In the event of injury or surgery, a silicon cure will speed up repair, reconstruction of new tendon. This can improve recovery and convalescence times.

Où trouver du silicium

Hail and nettle are rich in bioavailable silica. This last point is important because the results depend on this bioavailability. It is important that the silicon is easily assimilated by your body without overloading the liver with non-essential additives.

Generally, "organic silicon" is the one recommended because mineral or colloidal silicon is difficult to assimilate. In short, they end up in the urine...

Nature being kind, nettle and horsetail have a whole panel of minerals and trace elements that support each other. This natural synergy makes these remedies particularly bioavailable and, above all, effective.

For real results, the complementation in organic silicon should be done over several months as part of a personalized lifestyle.

Petite histoire du silicium organique en Europe

Long banned from sale by French health authorities and the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), organic silicon was only authorized in 2017.

No serious studies exist to date proving the great effectiveness of silicon but neither do any studies show its ineffectiveness or dangerousness.

Today, organic silicon is recommended for:

  • the bone and joint problems.

  • strengthen the immune system.

  • improve the condition of the phanera (nails, hair).

  • prevent cardiovascular disease.

  • maintain cognitive functions (memory, concentration, thinking, learning, etc...)

  • stabilizing mood.

Pour conclure avec le silicium organique

As a reminder, in naturopathy we don't do green medicine, one symptom = one plant. It is a set of techniques and personalized advice that will allow your body to regain a certain balance. To go further in the natural accompaniment of bone and joint disorders, it is always better to call upon a certified naturopathic practitioner.
