Tendonitis is inflammation of the tendons. Tendons and ligaments are made up of collagen, the formation of which depends in part on silicon concentration. Silicon helps synthesize the elastin that gives tendons their characteristic suppleness.

In the event of injury or surgery, a course of silicon will speed up the repair and reconstruction of new tendons. Convalescence and recovery times can then be improved.
