The importance of fever has been forgotten

The mechanistic and alarmist vision of allopathic medicine has distanced us too much from nature and made us forget that it is well made! In fact, the body has a whole series of natural defense mechanisms that it can put in place in the face of various infections or aggressions.

This hyperthermia, which is induced by the body, is a defense mechanism that helps fight viral or bacterial infections, since most of these micro-organisms die above 38.5 or 39°.

This increase in body temperature also leads to an acceleration of the basic metabolism, which will stimulate the blood and lymphatic circulatory functions.

The accelerated circulation allows the defense agents (white blood cells: macrophages, leukocytes, etc.) to reach the site of the infection more quickly. But the elimination of toxins (especially bacterial ones released by the killing of bacteria) will also take place more quickly. This is why the urine will appear more charged, more colored and more odorous.

The fever that accentuates the phenomenon of sweating (increased sweating) thus leads to drainage through the skin, one of the body's most important emunctories.

But that's not all...

The fever also has the ability to inhibit digestive enzymes. That's why you don't usually feel hungry when you have a fever. It is therefore not advisable to force yourself to eat since the enzymes are partly unavailable and digestion will not take place properly.

Digestion is one of the most energy-intensive physiological processes. This resting process allows the body to mobilize as much energy as possible in order to make it available to the immune system so that it can fight the infection.

Indeed, the mobilization of all the defense systems requires a colossal energy to our body. It is therefore necessary to suspend certain physiological processes that save energy, which will then be available for the healing process.

The healing process as a whole also represents a huge energy cost for the sick person. It is therefore quite normal for a sick person to be tired and if he or she wants to recover quickly, it is imperative that he or she gets some sleep. The faster the body fasts and rests, the faster the recovery.

Fever itself is rarely life threatening.

Rather, the danger will come from artificially interrupting or preventing the establishment of this natural self-defense and thus severely hindering the natural healing process.

If we want to give the body every chance to heal on its own and quickly, we should therefore avoid stopping the fever and instead recommend supporting its action.

As long as it stays below 39 C °, bringing it down with antipyretics (drugs that fight fever) is therefore a bad idea. We will fight feveronly if it exceeds 39° and agitation and confusion appear.

Of course, some children are more fragile than others, but it is rare for seizures to occur below 39°.

If one wishes to reduce fever in a gentle and natural way, there are several options that can cool the body:

  • Wrap the calves or the head (forehead and neck) with a cold cloth.
  • Take or give a cool or cold bath at 2 degrees below body temperature for 20 minutes. This will lower the temperature by 1 degree for a few hours.
  • In 1st elimination through the intestines and cool the body.

In order to help the body in its fight against viral or bacterial pathogens, we can obviously use essential oils that will support and strengthen the natural defense mechanisms of the body.

In ancient civilizations, the fever was akin to a kind of initiation or spiritual evolution accompanied by a manifestation of the spirit of Light. From a psychological perspective, fever enhances personality development. Often, those around the child will notice that after a fever or illness, the child has grown or matured.

So let's remember that fever is just one of many healthy symptoms and ... part of the healing process!

Obviously, if the fever is too high (above 39.5 C °) and persists for 3 days at this temperature, it is highly recommended to consult a doctor so that he/she can make a diagnosis.
