Contrary to what one might think, Nigella oil can be of good help to act locally on the skins of teenagers and adults concerned by small pimples and other enjoyments of acne. Let's see together what this plant with cleansing virtues is, but not only...

L’huile de nigelle ou l’huile de cumin noir

Grown in Asia and some Mediterranean countries, especially Egypt, Nigella Sativa is a lovely blue flower of the buttercup family that produces small, fragrant and aromatic seeds every year that are highly prized not only in cooking but also in traditional Arab and Indian pharmacopoeia thanks to its therapeutic and cosmetic properties.

This multi-millennial remedy has already proven itself since the time of Ancient Egypt as can be attested to by the vial that was discovered in the tomb of Tutankhamen. Traces of its use can also be found in ancient Koranic texts stating "black cumin oil cures all diseases except death."

Composition et  propriétés de l’huile de nigelle

Its composition and richness depend on its mode and place of production.

Specifically, black cumin oil is extremelyrich in unsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids including linoleic acid (omega 6 family), vitamins (vit of the B group, A, C and E), minerals (iron, zinc, calcium...) and essential oil.

From its high content of essential fatty acids, i.e. lipid molecules not synthesized by the body but whose intake through food is essential to its proper functioning, this oil greatly nourishes and softens the skin.

Its action againstfree radicals inhibits the oxidation of cell membranes, thus slowing cellular aging while calming skin inflammation.

Its nourishing, regenerating, healing, purifying, anti-inflammatory and non-comedogenic properties make this oil a choice and exceptional ally to soothe oily acne-prone skin.

Choix de votre huile

In order to have an oil with optimal properties, black cumin oil must be pure, of organic quality and cold pressed. Black cumin from Egypt is known to be high quality.

Its price is around 100€ per liter. A 100ml or even 50ml bottle is more than enough because only a few drops are needed in your daily routine.

In addition, sensitive to oxidation, once the bottle is opened, black cumin oil should be used within 6 months at the risk of seeing its active ingredients lose effectiveness. This oil should be kept in the shelter of air and light.

Mécanisme physiologique de l’acné

Acne is a condition that affects nearly 80% of adolescents in the midst of hormonal upheaval and can also affect some adults.

To simplify, acne is thought to be due to excessive male sex hormone production thus accentuating sebum production. The hair follicle at the base of the hair becomes clogged, the accumulation of sebum then becomes a favorable environment for the development of a bacteria called Propionibacterium Acnes responsible for the appearance of pimples by inflammation and infection.

Applications de l’huile de nigelle dans une routine anti-acné

In addition to personalized lifestyle measures recommended by a naturopath, it is quite sensible and interesting to act locally with nigella oil. Here is the simplest method to treat locally facial disorders and soothe skin inflammation:

  • Pour a few drops into the palm of your hand, warm the oil by rubbing your hands together and then apply to the face with a gentle massage to properly penetrate the product while stimulating blood and lymphatic circulation.

Its characteristic odor is fairly strong. If thisdoes bother you, it is quite possible to dilute it in another vegetable oil like that of jojoba.

In summary, the oil of Nigella also called black cumin oil is a remedy that has proven itself in different medicines traditional Middle Eastern and Indian. Coupled with a comprehensive care of the subject (dietary readjustment, herbal medicine, liver drainage etc. ...), this oil can be proven extremely effective in the prevention and treatment of acne for both teenagers and adults.
