How to use Montmorillonite clay
Montmorillonite clay or Naturado green smectite is a top-quality clay, rich in minerals useful to the body, especially magnesium, rigorously selected and subjected to numerous controls. It is therefore ideal for health applications. Its powerful remineralizing and detoxifying action is due to its extraordinary richness in minerals and its strong power of absorption and adsorption. It works in symbiosis with plant essences or decoctions. The surfine form is an ultra-fine powder (grains of around 77 microns) that lends itself particularly well to use as a facial mask/cataplasm for all skin types, especially oily skin, and, with caution, internally as a treatment or dietary supplement. Of course, it can also be used for poultices, plasters, balneotherapy or hygiene (e.g. non-foaming "soap" or shampoo).
As a paste to be applied as a beauty mask, montmorillonite green clay is particularly suited to oily skin, but works wonders on all skin types thanks to its softening, purifying, decongesting and toning properties. It brightens the complexion and leaves the skin incredibly soft. Used regularly, it has a formidable rebalancing effect, absorbing excess sebum, gently cleansing, stimulating the skin's natural defenses and giving the face a new tone. An ideal paste for oily hair.

Recommendations for use-
For internal use: pour half a teaspoon of montmorillonite green clay into a glass of water. Mix with a wooden spatula and drink ("clay water"), or drink only the clay water after letting the clay settle to the bottom of the glass. Caution: the internal use of clay is not harmless, so please consult serious books or a therapist who will guide you in its use.- Preparing the paste (external use): in a glass or wooden dish, add 2 to 3 tablespoons of montmorillonite clay and a little mineral or floral water. Leave to stand for a few moments. Mix well with a wooden spatula to obtain a smooth, creamy paste.
- Plaster and poultice: apply the clay paste directly to the skin in a 1-2 cm thick layer and leave on for a maximum of 1-2 hours. Or apply clay with a thin cloth. Place the clay paste in the center of the cloth to a thickness of 2 cm, fold the four corners of the cloth over the clay and apply this plaster directly to the desired area. In both cases, after 2 hours, remove as much clay as possible and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
- Beauty mask: spread the paste in a thin layer (1 to 2 mm) over the face. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes. Do not allow clay paste to dry. Rinse off with lukewarm water. Apply Moisturizing Cream/Fluid.
- Hair mask: spread paste over entire scalp. Leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse, then apply your usual shampoo.
- To wash skin or hair, mix (for medium-length hair) 3 to 6 tablespoons of clay into twice as many tablespoons of warm water. A thick, liquid paste appears. Let the clay swell for a few moments. Then spread the mixture over wet skin or hair and massage gently. Leave for a short time and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Finally, treat and dry the skin or hair as usual.
Essential oils and/or, for dry hair, a few drops of vegetable oils can be added to the paste.
- Gentle bath: dilute a 200 g sachet of montmorillonite clay in your bath. You can add a few drops of essential oils of your choice. Relax for 20 minutes. Rinse off with clean water, leaving your skin supple and soft. For dry skin, a moisturizing cream/fluid and/or BAOBAB Leg Fluid Cream (LEG LOTION) - Demeter may be beneficial.
