Citrus fruits for zen evenings

Smells are intoxicating and they soothe us if we let ourselves be captured by pleasant and positive aromatic molecules. Although smells are unique to each person on earth, aromatherapy is known to bring information and a message to the brain. Thanks to its olfactory receptors, our nose directly sends it information to manage situations in an unconscious way. Indeed, we rarely realize what happens to the nervous and olfactory system when we breathe in an essential oil.

The usual reflex when we have problems falling asleep, waking up at night or insomnia, is to turn to sleeping pills that are rarely natural. Indeed, the molecules ingested are totally from the chemical industry and like most allopathic medicines, they camouflage the problem without allowing any message to be understood. Also, every evening, many people systematically swallow a pill to be able to close their eyes for a few hours.

Are sleeping pills the solution?

Of course not! Indeed, addiction is present and the side effects, even insidious, settle in little by little. Although sleeping pills are a great support and help for some, they should not be used on a long-term basis at the risk of developing other health problems and a harmful addiction.

You will have understood, it is by moving towards more natural and quite effective methods that we will evolve towards health:

Aromatherapy, a branch of phytotherapy

Essential oils are interesting in many areas, whether on the physical, emotional or energetic/vibratory side. Let us linger then on some essential essences for the sleep disorders.

Citrus essences are, in my opinion, the most suitable aromatic scents for sleep disorders. Indeed, in addition to their relaxing and calming odors, they have chemical properties that are essential for rest.

Essence of mandarin : Citrus reticulata

This essence, very appreciated by children, is composed mainly of limonene at a rate of 70% more or less. Its percentage will vary according to the variety of mandarin, green or red. This will have a sleep inducing and nervous system rebalancing action. Calming, sedative and relaxing, it will bring a moment of peace and serenity to your Zen evenings. Ideal in olfaction or diffusion, we advise to use it in breathing on a handkerchief or in a bottle or ideally in a diffuser of essential oils to harmonize your evenings and prepare the coming of Morpheus. It will be useless to use it in massage on the body because its action will not be increased.

Essence of sweet orange: Citrus sinensis

Calming and soothing, this essence has the ability to manage sleep disorders, even in the youngest. Its intoxicating smell will fill the biggest crises of nervousness, anguish or stress. An essential oil ideal for forgetting the worries of the day, whether professional or personal. By detaching ourselves from the problems, we allow our body an immediate and optimal rest.
Through olfactory diffusion, it relaxes the atmosphere and then eliminates the emotions harmful to the well-being. The sweet orange will bring a cocooning moment to your winter and summer evenings. As for the mandarin, its use on the skin is useless for treatment.

Essential oil of Neroli: Citrus aurantium var. amara

Do we still need to present it? This queen of precious essential oils will be an indispensable ally to fight the demons of the night. Coming from the white flowers of a tree so precious that allows the manufacture of several aromatic essences as the small bigarade grain which is from the leaves or the orange which is from the fruits, the neroli allows to free itself from powerful emotional tensions by bringing an optimal well being and a harmony in the life of every day. Ideal to counter hard knocks or emotionally strong moments, it will be an indispensable ally.

Given its expensive price, we advise to use it in olfactotherapy which is a very effective method to counter the small hurts of the soul that prevents the rest of the mind.
