Carrot oil: your skin and complexion ally

Carrot oil or daucus carota

It is a macerate of carrot oil which is a very important source of provitamin A (beta-carotene) and vitamin E (tocopherol). These orange antioxidants have earned it the name of the "healthy glow oil"! Because it will give you a luminous complexion all year long.

Very useful in all preparations of products for tanning or after-sun care, it prepares the skin for sun exposure. It will also help you keep your complexion tanned.

Beware: although it prepares the skin for the sun, carrot oil does not, however, protect against UV rays and therefore does not replace sun cream.

Carrot oil (daucus carota)

Some call it the oil of smiles, because it is positive.

Nourishes and regenerates the epidermis

In local massage it allows to nourish and regenerate the epidermis (skin and mucous membrane). Due to the powerful antioxidants it contains, this oil neutralizes free radicals and therefore helps prevent skin aging, wrinkles and brown spots. Adding a few drops to your usual day cream will tan your complexion while preventing skin aging and maintaining the elasticity of your skin. It can also be combined with other vegetable oils: jojoba, hazelnut or prickly pear. For normal or combination skin, borage or rose hip oil should be chosen for dry skin, and wheat germ oil for extremely dry skin with a tendency to flake.

Carrot oil participates in the cellular regeneration in case of lesions (example psoriasis, eczema or acne). In addition, it protects or soothes after long exposure to the sun.

Finally, this vegetable oil can also be used on the hair, especially if it is dull, damaged and/or dry.

Little nutritional interest

Little interest except for preparing the skin for sun exposure. As in many vegetable oilsThe latter is fragile and sensitive to oxidation. It should be kept in a cool place, away from light and air.

Its essential oil is one of the most powerful natural bactericides because of the active ingredients it contains (carotol, daucol and beta-caryophyllene). These molecules inhibit the development of dermatophytes, fungi that cause skin, hair and nail infections. The carotol (alcohol present in the EO) stimulates the cardiovascular system and promotes the contraction of blood vessels. This can tend to increase blood pressure. Its alcohols make it stimulating for the liver and the bile ducts, while having a regenerative action on the hepatic cells. Thanks to its richness in monotorpenes, the EO of carrot is a tonic and a general stimulant of the body. It would stimulate the adrenal cortex.
